Enter Shikari are doing a massive tour so can rule them out

Arcane Roots playing both 10th and 11th get in

I think they were ruled out anyway cause didn't James say the remaining two headliners have not played Trees before? or at least headlined Trees before?

He did but I think that was based on the offers he'd made not who had been booked at that point

Dropkick Murphys have EU dates just after 2KT. Not really a band I think they’d book but has to be in the headliner conversation.

Could be completely wrong but this must have a chance of materialising now given the gap in EU dates when 2KT is on.

There's room but the blurs on the poster seems to suggest they'll be between the 15th & 19th June. And 26th June to the 10th July is quite a big gap to still be in Europe for so can probably rule them out now unfortunately

The thing that doesn't quite rule it for for me is that leak that has them playing in the UK at that Offspring gig and the fact that PUP are also playing both that show AND Trees so it's not entirely out of the question yet

It's also possible they weren't allowed to reveal the UK dates on their tour poster today due to playing Trees, maybe the deal is they have to be announced at the same time

Yeah that's too big a gap but that London date is a stellar lineup. If I wasn't going to Rock IM Park I'd be tempted.

I feel like the PUP comparison isn't that valid considering that PUP have played the festival in the past and have been booked to play both the Weds and the Thurs. They could still also announce some more dates in a few weeks where as Billy Talent have already announced their album shows. They could be playing some regular shows but would be odd to just do that, I would have thought they would be doing album shows up until Trees.

That Offspring show isnt one of the blurred out ones so its all a bit strange. As it's clearly 16th and 17th June blurred

Could be that they're not doing the album at that show or they were on a previous version of the line up. Infact the Ticketmaster tweet about it lists the bands in the tweet and has Billy Talent instead of PUP.

someone in the 2000 Trees facebook group has posted that Marmozets self confirmed themselves at a gig the other night, which is disappointing given the grooming allegations against their drummer that they've ignored for years

With TFB announcement for Outbreak MCR and AFI now rumoured for Outbreak LDN it really does feel like a year where everyone else has pissed on the chips of 2KT when it comes to headliners.

Oh when is this Outbreak London date?, AFI is what i need to see.

Yeh I'm interested to see who they have, but not super hopeful atm. That said I'm not overly fussed about the headliners for Trees. I was only a fan of 1/3 in 2024 and had a great weekend. Gaslight really impressed me and had fun at The Chats (helped by multiple white Russians) but still need some names lower down on the lineup to get me excited which I don't have so far this year

Before people start having a go at me, I'm just throwing this out there for the sake of it,   would they get someone like Mogwai to headline?

I'm not sure, they had Mogwai headline ATG but I'm not sure they'd have them at Trees?

Just thinking that they may have to start diversifying a little bit of the potential headliner pool is getting smaller

The headline pool isn't small at all. If they've struggled this year (which we only reckon based off some comments on the pod) it's just been a bad year for them with lots of competition. Every fest has experienced this at some point. There's tons of bands that could headline before Mogwai and they've sorted of moved away from the nerdy ATG stuff from Trees and whenever a band does play they get the tiniest crowd. I saw Frontierer last year and it was pretty much like 40 people there so Mogwai would go down like a lead balloon tbh.

I mean most festivals that are aimed at certain genres have limited headliner pools to some extent, especially mid sized ones

Ah I was hoping it was going to be a different event. I'd have also guessed that bill was full.

APE usually has about 5 stages worth of acts, so will be a lot more to be announced yet.

Outbreak London last year (using the smaller setup for LIDO) had 19 acts I think, so I'd expect around 30 or so for it this year.

I think Braid and Hey Mercedes are in the country at the same time so might be added to satisfy the elder emos?

Rest of the UK dates are a week later and they're doing festivals already with Quiet Steps in Leeds. Might be tricky to see how they fill the gap of an empty week in between.
