That would be a dream booking for me. Confession time, I’m totally new to Instagram having recently deleted my X account. Where do I actually see messages from posters on IG ? All I see are photos and reels? Is there a time line or do I have to scroll down my own timeline til I find the post.

Thought I'd collate everything we know about so far in terms of GM-friendly non-British artists at European festivals that weekend:

 

Gunnersbury Park: Khrungabin, TV On The Radio
Paredes de Coura: Air, MJ Lenderman, Cassandra Jenkins
Pstereo: Viagra Boys, Altin Gun, Okay Kaya
Stowaway: Seun Kuti & Egypt 80, Anna Erhard
UK tour dates up to 14th: Alan Sparhawk

 

Also Mannequin Pussy who cancelled last year are at Reading & Leeds the following weekend and Helado Negro just got added to Sziget the previous weekend. Nothing of interest to add yet from Rock en Seine, Pukkelpop, Lowlands (though they're teasing an announcement next week), Cabaret Vert, Parken, We Out Here or Wild Fields.

Air just got announced for Wilderness. I'm not sure if GM usually share acts with them?

Yes should be good. I had wondered if GM would have Cat Powers doing Bob, but I guess we can’t have too many Bob acts, or can we! 😁

Overmono are doing APE on 16th so could potentially be a fit for the Friday night (either mountain stage or late night).

I would love for it to be Overmono. But they were there in 2021 so feels a little soon, I remember the Far Out tent being pretty quiet but they were incredible. I think they had technical problems at the start of their set. Desperate to see them again this year

Think we can now rule Air out if they're playing Latitude high up the bill and Wilderness, they're not going to be coming back over to the UK two weeks after the latter.

Sparks' tour dates don't align either - they're in the UK in June and tour ends in July. More likely they're doing Glasto

Losing Air is a bummer. Would have loved that. As more possibilities come and go, it's becoming harder for me to not see Khruangbin as one of the headliners. 

 

Alabama Shakes would be one from nowhere, but that would be bloody marvellous.

Even there I'd caution that they seem to be rumoured as Pukkelpop Sunday headliners so if that's the case would presumably be flying out on Saturday.

Laura Marling's said on her mail out she's doing some shows in Manchester then taking a break for a year or two so definitely out. Possibility of The Cat Empire playing maybe? Feel like it's a match for vibe and they've got a new album out and UK hole in the summer in the tour?

For the month of February, I will be buying in to all attractive rumours and completely ignoring the dismissal of said rumours regardless of logic or reason. Somebody has to take a stand.

God I think your right. If they're in Belgium Sunday, then that completely ends that dream too. That Germany date in their tour is also a terrible sign.
