I think that RW tickets are being sold really good, so Live Nation took the decision to move Oscar and The Wolf from Werchter to Pukkelpop.

Think the talk was O&TW were going to be the act below Sam Fender but I personally think that’ll just be Raye now.

So you could be right

I don't think it works like that.

I don't think it's as straight forward as that but I'm sure there's precedent for it in the Belgian festivals covered by LiveNation. Off the top of my head, System of a Down were scheduled to play Werchter 2020. Then when they were struggling to shuffle everything post pandemic, they moved them to Graspop because they didn't have anyone who could suitably fill that slot.

Then in 2022 System cancelled their full tour so they needed alternatives for both.

Schedule issues is a bit different, rather than moving a band because another festival is selling well.

Yeah that's very true. Though it might be a bit easier in the case of OATW being moved from one Belgian fest to another(assuming he's still based there).

I do think Rock Werchter will go for the Sam Fender/Raye closing bill now. Raye got a few headliner/co-headliner slots at some smaller Euro fests. I think they've potentially banked on her being a bit bigger than she is by now but it's a fresh name at the top of line ups at least.

But this is completely different.

It's not like they are saying 'oh, the tickets are going fast, let's remove some acts from our yet-to-be-revealed lineup'. Oscar was most probably never on the RW lineup.

I'd give those first 6 names 3/10. Terrible start.

Maybe this will change during the next few weeks but it's the first time that Lowlands program will probably attract me more than Pukkelpop's one.

On the other hand, these headliners let me hope in a really strong undercard 🤞🏻

Do you think Charli QOTSA Khruangbin (or Vampire Weekend) could be possible for tomorrow?

I can't understand why so many festivals are announcing ASAP when there is a chance that he will be sentenced.. the results of the trial will be coming out in the next week, so I don't understand why they haven't waited to announce. Otherwise all of these festivals are going to have to do a very quick U-Turn and remove a headliner from their line up.

Lowlands looks to have a pretty nice undercard. Raye & London Grammar is good, I guess it will depend how the day splits work out.

Yeah not the best after that 3 also I thought it was 4 days of full acts so that’s why I thought yesterday was pretty good but if they’re actually 6 of the biggest 9 acts… yeah not good

I understand doing this with Chappell Roan but, since Lowlands already announced about 50 acts, I don't understand why PKP needed to announce such a few names when they include 2 Belgian acts who played everywhere in Belgium, a rock band who literally played everywhere during the last 3 years including several Belgian shows and doesn't have anything new and coming, a controversal rapper currently under trial and a typical Boiler/Dance Hall big act who also showed many times there.

I hope for a batch this Friday already.

I'm also a bit worried about the size of the crowd for Idles. They're not for everyone and it's a big step up, although I'm sure they'll smash it.

I've given up guessing mate.

    • It was awful during Father John Misty and I was close to the front. People just shouting and laughing their f-ing heads off about nothing in particular and being louder than the bloody stage.
    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
