Well, regarding resale, I sold one combi ticket on Ticketswap on Thursday, it got snapped up in 26 seconds. There's clearly a lot of demand for a Pop Werchter 🙂

Yungblud was good imho, perhaps did too much talking in between the songs but I take him anytime over KOL!

NBT were decent and Werchter did a greta job in securing them in such a short time frame.

Anyway,  yesterday I switched to an exploration mode, focusing on artists I never saw before and found a few gems - NOFUN! were amazing on Slope,  Bright Eyes & Wisp were great too. Raye was interesting, great musically but not my cup of tea tbh. Not impressed by Damiano but I am clearly not a target group

I am looking forward to today, a lot of to explore today 🙂

Ah I've not doubted there is interest of people to go, even Sunday tickets popping up today. But remember, ticketswap is a fake neglible source of sales I've just made up according to some do you can't have sold it lol....I jest. It was more there obviously a lot of people that invested very early on and when it came to it, it wasn't worth it. I don't think I've ever bought a weekend festival ticket or even day ticket to a festival because the cost is high meaning you've liked enough there and then felt the need to let it go. Obviously it happens. Download is the other case for when I've seen loads going but that doesn't even need committing to early, virtually a guarantee you'll pick up one depending what you're willing to spend.

It's almost as if music is subjective. 😂 I'd much rather see Olivia and Noah than Lady Gaga and Lewis.

It's been clear for a while but your arguments have basically boiled down to 'I don't like the acts the festival booked so it must be bad" rather than actually having any substance to them.

Hope you've enjoyed your weekend at home.

I'd rather see Olivia and Gaga out of those choices but I'd see Lewis over Noah everyday of the week.

Nope that's a clear narrative as you put it you've made up in your head, the fact I like Olivia and paid more than I usually would to see her makes your point null involved, pointless and preaching. Whichever way it's looked at, big acts or not, Gracie and Noah as a sub and 3rd down on the same festival weekend that booked Deftones and Fontaines, then even Simple Minds, Girl in Red and Weezer behind them in just plain weird.

I've been fine with my weekend at home thanks, I've done things I've needed to and I've had a few bits weekend and days out so if anything it was needed. I'm not sure where that suggested point was getting you but you're on here even though you're there so...

There's so many debates to have for next year's headliners, although the ones you mentioned do seem stuck in the past.

Will acts pick late summer festivals in 2026 with no Glastonbury, then do the Werchter/glasto/roskilde/mad cool cycle in 2027.

With acts that are UK based, I see no reason they wouldn't pick up earlier summer late late summer in the UK?, they don't have to play Glastonbury, these festivals have secured decent lineups without Glastonbury being on. The last fallow Werchter got The Kilelrs, Pearl Jam and Arctic Monkeys, the one before LP, KOL, Coldplay and Iron Maiden which is a massive set of 4. Some of them also with touring this year and next year won't be around in 2027 so there will be a different set of acts.

Green Day is my favourite band ever, was my eighth time seeing them, fourth on this tour. As always great show, but could be better (no deep cuts or any surprises, crowd was relatively moderate).

As for LP, visually beautiful show, but soulless. Had a feeling that the main purpose of this reunion is to make a ton of money (maybe the fact that I saw them with Chester makes me biased). Well, at least seems that everyone in the crowd around me enjoyed it (including my wife, which is the main thing for me of course)!

Yes I'd seen Linkin Park multiple times, it might have helped I went to their own shows rather than a festival.

Will they do any festival? Perhaps they are past all that. They haven't played any festival since 2019.

They played festivals in 2023

Also, if you book completely fresh acts based on being stuck in the past you narrow it down significantly. Take Nick Cave, he goes back years and that would be stuck in the past. Right  ow a few of those options are at the time to grab them, Mumford I would agree could take or leave them.

There will be a mix of fresh and older headliners. Which is the right way to go.

The ones you chose, I can only see the Saturday as a possibility.

Indeed it should, that's why I added a mix of older and newer. Many older acts are still young very popular with younger people. And it might well be the case with Saturday, they might be all wrong. Costs may prevent a couple of them happening. Out of all of them, I'm most confident on The Cure and Lorde.

During Barry’s set, the area outside of KlubC was packed all the way to the drinks stands. I never understood why they do that. Imo the Barn should always be the stage with the “alternative/indoors” night closer as it’s the only option for ppl not interested at a particular headliner. Anyway…nice party for a few beers at the end of the day 🙂

I don’t know how much crowd Yungblud had at the beginning but I believe you guys if you say it was a big one. Walking around as Barry was ending though, that meadow was half empty to say the least. Nothing But Thieves had a much bigger crowd earlier.

I wasn’t much affected by Sam Fender’s cancellation as I’m not a big fan but I do feel bad for all the people that bought their tickets for him. sh*t happens but he’s done this too many times now at this festival.

Amenra was epic as always, goosebumps everywhere during Roads and Glory Box by Beth Gibbons and Elbow were pleasant to see live.

Happy that the rain came today only as everything we want to see is inside :).

Yungblud got a massive crowd, at least for the first hour. He's great but needs some good songs.

Weird summary and not just as a fan. There is no bias in him, I'mnot a die hard fan enough to defend him whatever. He's great but needs some good songs?, I dont get the whole thing of calling someone great but not liking them. Not having an opinion either way due to that fair enough but still saying they are great is strange. He turned up though at least and even turned up to Villa Park yesterday early on as well to perform Changes.

Perfect summary of Yungblud. He really needs some good songs.

Also added to this. Even if you like hiw he performs, if you dont think he has any good songs then he's performing to stuff you don't like. Wouldnt you just walk away?

He obviously keeps getting booked as he brings people in. He's a new generation rock star. The Reading Bloc Party booking of the late 2000s haha.

NBT getting a big crowd doesn't bode well, bored the living s**t out of me supporting Green Day in Manchester. Picking them after previously picking Fall Out Boy and Weezer seemed mad.

Noah just subbed the Pyramid at Glasto, sold out BST and played Blackweir Fields in Cardiff (same as Kings of Leon were meant to). Whether you like him or not is irrelevant, he's plenty big enough for that spot and fits fine. Likewise with Gracie, she played 3rd down on the Other stage as Glasto which puts her at a reasonable size for the spot too.

What's weird? That they book acts you don't like?

Noah is also subbing at NOS Alive, subbing is his correct position.

I don't think anyone has questioned him in a sub position, he's just not right for that festival.

Yeah I don't remember anyone questioning him being a sub sized act.

He's a poor act to book for the place generally when you consider Deftones who I don't like, Simple Minds likewise and KOL/Yungblud were original options all 3 other days. Even NBT came in more suitable in the end and I don't like them. It's the pattern off play in booking, liking him or not isnt really relevant, it's suitability.

Greta Van Fleet, Sum 41 and Royal Blood all as 2024 subs. Probably got to go back to 2017 to see a choice that poor and the rest of the bill smashed it.

I'll leave that there though, no point in extended views anymore on it.

Just roll on to 2026 announcements.

You ever like a band but find they're not good live? This is the opposite of that.

I have done yes but needing some good songs isn't the opposite lol. Shinedown are one example of a band I rarely listen to, don't know many of the words but they put on a good show and I like their sound. If i didn't like the bands sound even I wouldn't hang around.

Madness right! Who knew that a random on a festival site didn’t know more than the bookers!

The same people who couldn't get Saturday night sold out then lol!, the easiest day of a 4 day weekend to sell despite multiple replacements after booking it as a shocking day with sicknote again in the first place.....madness right! Yup.

Think before you type!!! LOL

I'd be putting money on Chappell Roan to be there next year.

Hopefully this option.
