Massive Attack at Gent Jazz festival july 13th
Pretty sure they're out for Werchter.

Of course they are. That's a quite costly band they haven't booked a bunch of times before... 😕

It's really sad we have to get tragedic events to get historical shows. I still remember the insane line-up Ariana Granda got after the terrorist attack at her show in Manchester. There's this show now in L.A. now some sick featurings. I wish we would have more of that more often (but not too much to keep this legendary/historical/rare).

About RW, nothing this week. Hope we gonna have PKP stuff next week and wait a bit for RW anyway (honestly 1% chance I come in 2025).

No Oscar & The Wolf at Werchter then.  Wondering whether that just means RAYE is the sub

Too bad, but when posting conclusions/statements, it's always nice if the poster can refer to source, so everyone doesn't have to search for the reasoning themselves.

Apologies I should have been clearer.

Today Chappell Roan, Oscar & The Wolf and Chase n Status have been announced for Pukklepop which means they’ll not be playing Rock Werchter (so I’ve been told they don’t share the major acts)

Ok thanks. Time wise they're a bit separated as well, so I've really never looked at them to be very overlapping anyway, but I wouldn't have mind OaTW compared to other names circulating. I think you're right though. With how sales are going, they probably just scale down the whole Saturday, using Raye as a sub and counting on it to sell out anyway.

Yeah I think so mate, can’t actually seeing much what people would class as big being added.  Think you could look a the lineups of Nos, MC, Opener etc.. and have a good stab at 15/20 acts that’ll be playing.  Strange they’re not playing as the source was the drummer of OATW too, guess things can change unless there’s some exception and they do both (I doubt it).

They're Belgian. Don't know if that changes anything in terms of exclusiveness?

Alice in Chains playing in black Sabbath's farewell gig July 5th in the uk. Would love to see them over play Werchter one of the other days .

That’d be awesome! They don’t have any other dates in Europe though (yet) and Jerry Cantrell is touring solo until the end of June at least (I actually have tickets for one of his gigs 🙂). It looks more like a one off but we can always hope!

What a long wait! A few new bands would be nice...

Me and a couple of friends were chatting the other day; obviously I think some things are happening behind the scenes and this used to be very normal but I feel like the June/July festivals are the barest they've ever been at this stage in the year for the most part. Easily since the pandemic.

Some people on Festileaks think we could be getting something today as apparently Pukkelpop won't continue announcing until next week. Believe it when I see it haha

In between interviewing today I come with hope.  The backseat lovers have announced themselves on their website so it’s looking good for announcement

They would be a big plus point for me too. Franz Ferdinand, Weezer, The Backseat Lovers, all looking promising for today!

    • Good catch this. Used on the Main stage on Saturday like a really cheap alternative.   Cracking little day though. A few Belgian acts to start the day (Atomic Orchestra, Kids with Buns, Selah Sue), some UK/IE midsized bands to end the afternoon (Gurriers, Wunderhorse, Wet Leg) and then an evening of Deftones, Florence and Underworld.   Can’t wait to be there and (at least try to) make the most of it.
    • I would be surprised if they don't, given 2022 was the twentieth I imagine next year is going to be pushed as the 25th anniversary so having the most local big name artist possible headline seems natural. Maybe SFA are being saved for then too?
    • I’d be incredibly surprised if she was in the headline conversation at all. At best I could say a high Pyramid slot but I reckon maybe Other headliner against a rock act like Fender or even Other sub (where I have her in my predictions). I’d say Gracie Abrams is pulling similar if not better numbers to Tate and she was third down on the Other last year.
    • I dont think headliner. Other stage maybe
    • Sophie Williams (journalist and Mercury Prize judge) was on Huw Stephens' roundtable last week, said she'd love to see Overmono headline Green Man. Does feel like it's bound to happen. 2027 is surely on the cards seeing as they're about to release a new album
