Looks likes there’s a whole new Woodsies this year.:

“Woodsies is Glastonbury’s new vibrant and verdant area in the North west Corner 🌀

What’s new this year is the expansion of the areas eclectic sound
along with the willow sculptures who come out and sing

     🌳Immerse yourself in the trees🌳
Join us on this new musical journey

Sounds interesting…

A very Roger Dean image (FYI, he’s an artist famous for 70s album covers)

Moving the main tent made sense, but it didn’t have the feel of an “area” to me. It’s too far removed, with little going on. We walked round it in about 30 mins. Saw 1 act in the main tent and never came back.

They're playing Tales from Topographic Oceans, if they start on Wednesday it might be finished by the Sunday!

I'll give it a miss then, if they were playing Fragile, Close To The Edge or Relayer i'd be all over it.

The area has a lot of potential particularly integreating with the actual woods area but it's un-realised at the minute. The food options up there last few years have been really poor too.

surely this is because its a rubbish place to be - very low traffic compared to where a lot of the good food options are near West Holts etc

If they have designs on making it an area that's going to drag traffic away from the rest if the site (and retain it) they need better food options.

Guess it's a bit chicken and egg. Good vendors aren't going to want to go there if footfall is low. I know it's not the same exactly, but what was the Park like when it first started? (started during a few years I wasn't going so was well established by the time I came back) Did it feel like a properly distinct area? A destination if you will? Were there good food options right away?

The Park was already established when I went to my first in 2009, but there were loads of vendors in situ that year on the trackway near the entrance and on both sides of the Park.  That said, there were enough people camping in Park Home/Pennards etc. that they'd get footfall anyway, so less of a gamble.  With Woodsies, the only draw to be there is the main stage so it's not quite the same.  I guess campers from Wicket/Lime Kiln would pop there for food, but that's a lot less populous.

They cant have late night noise at Woodsies as it is to close to Pilton.

Perfect for a huge silent disco then.
