Okay well maybe this is the wrong thread for Pulp then, but they've got potential to be in the frame somewhere

Nick Banks was teasing an announcement for Pulp last night as well on Bluesky, what's happening then..

I went on the Friday and A Certain Romance is something that will stay with me forever.

Mesmerised (and may have shed a tear).

I was a little surprised they did full ACR and then only treated it as a one-off tbf. At the very least, I thought it might have made the cut for the second night in Sheffield on that run.

This info/something you’ve heard or just speculation cause they’re touring? Pulp subbing Neil (the slot I assume they’d be most likely in) would be an all timer sub/head combo.

So far, the tour extends to just being at Tramlines Festival in July. But it's long been assumed it was more than a one-off.

could be a new album - they have added some new songs to some live dates.

Yeah a single today wouldn't be out of question. They've signed to Rough Trade so there will be some album / new music at some point.

Yeah, would be pretty crazy if they didn’t stop off at Glastonbury at all on this reunion so I’m sucking down copium that this’ll be the year given next year is a no-go.

Pulp are sub level now, surely?

I thought there was something about them subbing Neil Young doing the rounds recently?

I mean, their 2023 run sold out Finsbury Park and they headlined Isle of Wight, Latitutde & TRNSMT. Sub feels like it wouldn't be that far removed - I mean, if this year had LCD Soundsystem doing it, Pulp feel like they're in a similar ball-park.

    • If the rumours coming out of the U2 camp are correct (big stadium world tour) then think they're more likely to do Wembley, Twickenham, etc as they'll be able to bring their own production and typically like to go big.
    • I was thinking big London date and lots of smaller ones.
    • I don't think they are too big for Castlefield these days. They've not had a new album for almost a decade and they like playing smaller venues. Maybe multiple nights is another option as they do like residencies
    • Second half of next week I would expect for stage times.
    • made a last minute decision to go to Belladrum festival.   it was absolutely wonderful.   never been before, to be honest I think I was expecting a stage in a field and a burger van, but its nothing at all like that.   the site is beautiful, its small enough to get around, but big enough that there are things to discover round each corner, there are a good number of small stages tucked away.   you could quite easily convince yourself you were in Glastonbury in places.   I may have only been one time, but already learned a valuable lesson - the site itself may be Glastonbury like, but the "general camping" campsite is very much Reading like! as the morning mist rises... its a view like the Do Lung Bridge scene in Apocalypse Now...   so if you are not 15 years old, go to family or quiet camping which is fantastic.   its a real family friendly festival to - loads of families and kids of all ages running round and stuff for them to do.   I would 100% recommend it, and I really can't see any reason why I wont be going back next year!   🙂
