Not gonna lie this is a terrible way to start announcing the lineup. Luckily there’ll be plenty other options.

I've definitely got unlucky with this one, I like most of the older, bigger, heritage acts from that time period...but not the two we've got so far!

He’s even less relevant now than he was in 2009. The younger generation don’t have a clue who he is. A lot of people who saw him 16 years ago are no longer festival dwellers, I expect a small crowd, albeit not SZA level small.

I don't believe either will get a ridiculous crowd. I think Charli will get a big one but not to the level of Avril last year, Neil Young will get a moderately big crowd I think but not McCartney or Elton level, more like Dua Lipa 2024 or Arctics 2023.

Yeah, Avril was a case of odd scheduling meaning that half the festival had nothing better on at the time.  There's never been an other stage headliner draw that kind of crowd and I doubt there ever will.  I think the Pet Shop Boys the other year was the biggest headliner crowd I've seen at the stage and that was a full, but comfortably spacious field.

Out of a group of 34 people aged between 24-38ish, one of us loves him, three of us could name one or two songs and 9 didn't know who he was.

I have asked every friend I've seen in the past few weeks, out of curiosity to see if i was just out of touch. Let's say 20+ all aged 30-40... not a single person knew about him.

Yeah I'm delighted those who love him are gonna have a great time seeing him, and I hope he is good as he is more my speed than Charli so I'll probably go. But it's not exactly talk of the town, is it.

But why do all 3 headliners need to be relevant to young people. Glasto would be shite then. It's great cos you can get some old codger who's a legend to the 50+ generation headlining the night before a young pop star who no one over 30 could name a tune by. Both massive and totally opposite ends of the spectrum, deserving to headline for different reasons. Plus there's 100 other stages at the same time. Glastonbury's fantastic because of this spectrum. Let's not try turn it into Reading or Leeds

The 1975 and Olivia Rodrigo are R+L bookings as far as I'm concerned, I don't think it's us that are turning it into anything.

To clarify, I don't want them either haha. Olivia Rodrigo probably has the clout for it internationally I just dk if she's that famous over here?

I'm actually surprised how much media interest the last few hours has generated. BBC news just announced it.

Auntie was always going to be all over it after Neil implied they were they reason

Shes sold out Hyde Park ages in advance and her arena tour last year (including 2 o2 arenas) was sold out too AFAIK. Shes definetly big enough.
