I don't think the festival can win for me, Olivia would be great for my daughter and was very very good on the other, Sam fender harmless feel good factor but would like another album before headlining, the 1975 isn't for me I don't get the hype but that's fine.

I cant think off another 2 headliners that are around that would be realistic Taylor swift and Eminem would be great but cant see it due to finances and eminem just not wanting to do it.

so i have reached a point where I understand the festival cant win and im good with it

Naturally it can win on one of the other  stages though?

Its not all about the pyramid - that’s the beauty of Glastonbury

I like that the festival is giving British acts an opportunity to step up, I hope it’s Fender and if so I think he will smash it.

Echo this. Two British acts both stepping up to headline, a year after another one did.

Have maintained before that after Dua Lipa, Fender should be the next cab off the rank from the "young British artist" pile if Harry Styles is out of the picture. The 1975 are firmly in the queue there too.

Post history doesn't scream 'in the know'

Don't care so much about that. As long as it doesn't scream "bullshitter".

It's not unusual for someone to get a random piece of info once but not before or after.

Do we know for sure that he is? New album supposedly imminent.

Likewise Dave was considered a strong shout for next year at one point, god knows what happened to that.

Dave was weirdly being talked about as a sub for this year at one point, which baffled me. That's what stadium expectations potentially do, though also not sure if he has dropped off the tempo significantly.

I remember people saying The 1975 were too small on the basis of them being second on the bill at R+L in 2023, one year after topping it. In both instances, they were late call-ups, so I think that negates it - had they not been drafted for 2022 in the first place, think they could well have been 2023 outright headliners instead of Billie Eilish or The Killers.

    • I think a Take to the Skies set would probably be the thing that gets me to go to this. Couldn't give a f**k whatelse is on there if that happens.   Feel like Knocked Loose might be too big by that point.
    • Issac Wood in support????   A lot here to digest
