I can't see The Prodigy not being there. I wouldn't be surprised if both Download/IOW and Glastonbury has them by literally process of festival elimination. Unlikely they are going to do just Glastonbury.

Why do you think they weren't booked this year?

Probably just as they chose their different options for festivals that they would get to headline outright. There was probably an element of wanting to see if the lack of Keith now did make a big difference is their attractive/ticket sales. Glastonbury obviously takes potential ticket money from them too so now they have a paid festival run, their own tour selling well first.

Fair chance of at least one if not both popping up I'd say

Looks like 2024 is going to be a big year for main stage dance acts to be fair

Orbital waiting on a slot, chems about, prodigy too

Can't see Skepta subbing as someone that religiously wishes for it, I know deep down he's not got the mass appeal across generations 😞

Eh I don't think it's massively unlikely. I'd say artists with less mass appeal have subbed before.

Jorja Smith ain't gonna be that low, Mabel wouldn't headline WH and KSI ain't gonna be booked at all. That Saturday Pyramid is definitely too contemporary and Madonna vs Doja Cat would be a crazy clash.

Some good ideas throughout the rest, though.

BBK Other stage headline surely killed the chance off, maybe I’m being cynical

Skepta is a bigger draw than BBK and has probably risen in stock since 2017 too (a bit more exclusive, some massive international collaborations, a successful follow up to Konnichiwa). I'm also imagining that he'll have another album out by next summer as part of this, mind.

Tbf I do think he'd probably fit better as an Other headliner, but I wanted to have at least 1 female headliner per stage in my prediction which is why I have Skepta and Jorja Smith where they are.

Fair play to the explanation, let’s hope Emily sees it in the same light. If Stormzy can headline when he did, grime has a place somewhere in her head.

I’m sure I’ve heard first snippet from the new album the other week so hopefully it’s class and gets lots of radio play.

They are two changes in bold I would make in that top tier. I do think that Madonna booking is going to be Rihanna though. I also would keep Dua Lipa away from Sunday headliner as having the same song played with essentially the same voice two years running on the same stage is way overkill.

Tasty... Although I'd hope they don't put synth-pop pioneers Depeche Mode up against synth-pop pioneers Kraftwerk...
