i'm weirdly attached to podimore services - stayed there a couple of times at the travelodge, and its always heralded great times ahead of course. always get excited when i see the signs to it. sad, but true

Once you go past or stop there quickly its onto the home straight! 🙂

Does anyone know how horrendous the big Tesco in Glastonbury city centre is on the Wednesday morning?
We are thinking of meeting friends there (driving from Birmingham and Lyme Regis respectively) at 8.30am , quick coffee and then convoying into the festival.
Any alternatives would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

The obvious ones would be Sainsburys at Street (5 minutes before you get to Tesco) or Morrisons at Glastonbury (2 minutes after Tesco).

Doubt there's much difference between them, and would expect any of them to be fine. Maybe Morrisons slightly busier as it has a cafe.

Which day is the Village shut to traffic? I’m coming down the Saturday before around 8am, camping West side, but prefer coming over the Mendip hills, it’s also quicker.. Will I be able to cut through the village from Cannards Grave round about? Then on to Red Gate?

Somerset traffic regulations suggest the A361 is closed westbound from the A37 for the full duration of the festival.

“To Temporarily Prohibit the driving of any vehicle on the following lengths of
road (when signs in place). Access will be permitted for residents, pass holders
and service vehicles as appropriate:

A361 at the junction with the A37 to be closed westbound to all traffic except
for local access, public service vehicles and coaches from 0001 hours on
Tuesday the 24th of June 2025 until 2200 hours on Monday the 30th of June
2025”

However I think the B3136 is only closed on Wednesday, so you can get through that way instead. But don’t take my word for it as never tried it myself.

That's great, good to have a few options to have a crack at!
Here's hoping we are in by midday once we join up with the main festival traffic

Two of group (inc me) staying at Worthy view, others at main part of festival - where can we drop them off without getting stuck in traffic?

There’s a shuttle bus that goes between Gate A and Worthy View. Your friends could jump on that shuttle (double-check that’s definitely ok though, because they’ll be stuffed if it isn’t). Otherwise it’s the B&W drop off point and they get the bus to Gate A. Or they could get the GF1 bus from Glastonbury town hall if you drop them off in the town centre. Will be running every hour.

I think this would work too.

Main issue is the relative infrequency / timespan of the WV - PGA shuttle, which can take up to 90 mins.  I think B&W might still actually be quicker.

some advice please.

We are currently planning to arrive by car at around 11am on the Weds, but we are now also thinking of perhaps arriving a bit earlier if possible.

Does anyone have any experience (i.e last year) of when the PGD Weds am queue was cleared (or nearly cleared?)

The person in our group who was due to drive 4 hours Weds morning is now going to travel Tuesday and stay in a hotel locally.

So might get there 30 mins-1 hour or so earlier than we originally planned, or might just stick to what we have already agreed and he can have a lie in!

Gate D was closed off at around 06:00 last year. It was reopen by 11.
