They are putting a really good effort in to alienating any non gen-z festival goers with this line-up it looks like, older people surely spend by far the most money on bars/food etc.

If PKP starts going the way for tiktok line-ups it will be sad, most of my group will definitely not go, meaning I likely won't go now 😢

This year there were so many headliners touring in late summer: Strokes, Killers, Arcade Fire, Chemical Brothers... If they go for Billie, Florence, Angele, Anne-Marie and CDW as main acts is because it is their choice and this year they want a teenage crowd after having one year with Slipknot, Arctic Monkeys and Tame Impala headlining.

I am 99% out this year.

I said last week that they couldn't fuck it up this year. Looks like I was wrong.

We could have a strong undercard but based on lowlands, nothing stronger than what I could just go to in the UK. Also being the last festival to announce anything doesn't really help anyone that has to sort hotels, flights etc etc.

Damn, that's pretty straight forward.

It is. Does make sense. They've not been announced for Glasto yet and are probably the missing Mad Cool headliner. Maybe they're waiting on the band to announce their dates first.

That would get me over the line tbh, even after such a dodgy start today

Several insiders already mentioned GnR for Graspop + it's rare that American acts stay in Europe for 2 full months + the Billie Eilish/GnR combo would be waaay over Pukkelpop's headliner budget (even with Angele being the cheaper third). This is not happening.

They've probably booked Tame Impala again.

It'll just be Billie - Angele - Florence, I'd bet. Shifting the ticket balance more towards weekend than day tickets, then counting on those 3 headliners speaking to the same demographic (+ the Billie effect).

Add a good undercard + some great tent headliners (plenty of good stuff available, looking at Rock En Seine and Lowlands), and you might still convince the alternative crowd despite the set of poppy main stage heads.

It's great to have Belgian artist headlining major Belgian festivals. Stromae at Rock WerchterCharlotte de Witte co-headliner last year at Pukkelpop and Angele this year. I'd be disappointed but not surprised if they announce Florence and The Machines tomorrow (just because I don't like her music). A band like The KillersThe Strokes or Imagine Dragons would have been really cool. But there are so many bands and stages there, we can have some fun somewhere else 🙂

For now, I'll go on Friday. And maybe combi tickets when the line-up is fully announced (or almost).

    • Aye I'd agree with that. I very much do find myself being more prepared to pick and choose now. I'm also prepared to wait for any "on the day" discounts from people who can't go.
