I did note the listing of "Nuevo Espacio Mad Cool" - this presumably rubber stamps the relocation across the city from Valdebebas. Isn't the new place like way out of Madrid or something?

No. It's Primavera Sound Madrid the one that will be held in Arganda del Rey.

Apparently the new Mad Cool space will be set here.

Mad Cool have taken the decision to cancel Mad Cool Sunset after Rage pulled out.

From the wording of this it makes it sound like they’re trying to get them back for the festival next year. I know how everyone is feeling with this after the bother with Leeds this year, but from a selfish perspective if they’re able to pull RATM, Biffy, Stereophonics, RTJ, Kurt Vile,  Sports Team, Yard Act and Wargasm on to next year’s line up too that would be a great start for me to start considering going back next year

Would love Rage against the machine , arctic monkeys , Pearl jam , queens of the Stone Age or Nick cave . 2 out of those would be fantastic

I would love this so much, even though I know there’s no chance of AM ever playing here again after last time. It’s an interesting one because I know people seem to fantasy book headliners across all genres (rock, pop, hip hop etc) now to try and make something that appeals to everyone, but I would love just one festival, literally just one that booked a line up full of rock, metal, alt and indie bands on a massive scale.

This year’s Mad Cool was the perfect festival in terms of that, or at least as close as you might get to that in the modern era and I hope they continue it going forward (and I’m kind of hopeful they will with them omitting Harry Styles already)

The only obvious problem with that is it makes it harder for them to have a gender balanced line up. But I would love to see them try and go for bands like Paramore and The XX for example just so Florence isn’t the only female at the top of the bill this year

Still confused what this AM situation is? I saw 30 mins of their set and went off to see Young Fathers but can't remember my friends mentioning anything from the gig.

    • I'm surprised they risked it, especially after nearly missing their Glasto 22 slot under similar circumstances  I did see someome say Ellie didnt sound as strong as recently but I'm guessing playing 3 shows in 2 different continents doesnt help that    On the topic though I can definitely see them doing a Fontaines and having a break over winter before a few final Clearing shows next summer
    • That's fair on WA - I did recall people thinking Fontaines would take this year off before this was announced.    On the subject of Wolf Alice, they did Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday then Kendal Calling last night. Bit of an odd choice, no? Half imagine at Kendal that they would've been just exhausted.
    • Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"
