when you know and like their music, these artists aren't boring. The musicians play very well, no mistakes, unlike some smaller bands. It's a matter of taste ^^

I'd like to see Sziget getting a name unannounced so far, almost an exclusivity. Killers and Strokes are good, BUT ... the line up wouldn't be great. Just good. I know that bands like Ghost and Avenged Sevenfold aren't "Szigetable" anymore lol, but still, I'm expecting a surprise.

Well, that name's certainly not Billie Eilish, she's playing Lowlands, Pukkelpop, Rock En Seine and R&L this summer. I still wonder (hope) whether it might be Green Day.

Of course, it's all subjective! I named them boring after seeing them both live and didn't like it at all. Even if I used to listen to them a lot back in the days. But I wanna point that if they have acts like AM or KOL has headliners, there's not shame/decrease to have The Killers headlining in 2023 🙂

I reckon we are still two or three weeks away from an announcement so doubt we'll hear from @Sziget2023_Leaks for at least another ten days or so.

Very happy for him/her to prove me wrong though.....

I did my research and last year @Sziget2023_Leaks had already given away some clues by this time (2-3 weeks away from the second announcement).

so @Sziget2023_Leaks …we are (not really patiently) waiting 😇

New names for Balaton Sound are coming in 2 days, I assume we'll get the new names for Sziget somewhere around 22/23/24 of February 🤷‍♂️

I've been working on the basis of us getting the names on 23 Feb. Any earlier, it's a bonus.

any chance for Aphex Twin? he plays a festival in London at the 19th of August

Very unlikely for Sziget I think

He'd have to either sub (in the day so no) or play the tent (too small)

he's quite expensive too - just doesn't fit with their new demographic well really

😞 Is he really that expensive? I mean.. atleast he deserves huge fees... would be awesome for a night slot in a38

I think Sziget needs a second capacity stage between Main and a38. A38 is my fav stage on Sziget, but sometimes is too small for some artist. Rufus du Sol at 19:30 was terrible, but they were to big to A38.

    • My party again had an outstanding 4 days in Barca. We made the right call to leave the festival site early at about 10.30 on Thursday to get ourselves some excellent steaks in the city. I am with everyone that the organization should have been clearer about what is going on and also if you would like to get rid of some attendees open more exits, they sent us from gate to gate until we finally were able to get out. Biggest 'disappointment' was the beer price, a YoY increase from 5 to 6 is absolutely nuts!!!   Top 10:   1. Men I Trust 2. Role Model (could have been first as well, what a great artist and great songs) 3. The cure (the last 90 minutes) 4. Gorillaz 5. MBV 6. Ninajirachi (another big miss of the organization, clearly on the wrong podium and wonder if Olivia's surprise set had something to do with that and they had to reschuffle late the Occident, Cupra and Port schedules) 7. NewDad 8. Big Thief 9. Annastashia  10. Kneecap   We did 3 years Barca now and for next year looking at the Porto of Bilbao festivals as an option.
    • Personally if it was me now, I would be grabbing a green camping ticket with the knowledge closer when I've refreshed that I can still choose general if I want to....you can't do the opposite!    I would say if you are happy to watch your headliners and big bands further back to be able to see who you actually plan to later then yes it is fine. Its a much difference experience to any other festival especially food wise and camping surrounds.    Once you're in the arena as well you're not going back unless you've got a gap. If I go again I'll be going with the option of not trying to push the front and enjoying further back as you actually put too much pressure on it than the time take away can forget to enjoy other acts.
    • No complaints about the sound. We were like 2nd set of steps facing stage right in like the middle row.
    • On the whole then, yay or nay...I've had a look on festivals united and there's people who seem converted by Rock Im Park, I can imagine it might be different if it was a washout as RaR is tarmac.   The hotel side would be more to convince the non campers if it's an option. On my first visit to rock am ring we were shuttled into the area where you could stick the car next to the tent which was fantastic as it meant zero lugging of camping gear.
