Subs can be totally unrelated to the main act, I've seen Billy Talent support Pink, or Sum41 subbing Snoop Dog back in the day, etc. Placebo is not that far from Billie Eilish.

I've seen pink support rammstein.

Same. I was there, insane day/weekend. Even if it was like a co-headline as they both play a long set (shorted for Rammstein due to incident on stage). See Pixies sub for SlipKnot on a festival like Cabaret Vert last Summer was something too...

A bit of chatter on the Mad Cool page about these youngster being a potential name for Sziget this year. Thoughts?

So far they only have a June date in the UK announced. Heavily rumoured for Glasto the week before. Some more rumours for the July festivals, but nothing yet for August. Based on all of the above I think they are likely to announce some more June/July dates in EU, much less likely for August.

GNR potential shows are Firenze Rocks, Graspop, Mad Cool, Vigo, Tel-Aviv, Landgraaf, Glasgow, Poland…and already confirmed BST (officially) & Glasto (unofficially). That’s all I found on festileaks, mygnr and other media.

No one ever mentioned Hungary. And they probably won’t tour from mid-June till mid-August.

The Killers? (Pukkelpop)

Viagogo is a credible source now? Guys…

I did say that its not official and its on another few sites so Viagogo is as good enough for me.

Leaks said not to the Killers but they would be a great addition and fit right in. Probably cheaper that some acts as well.  I seen Tom Grennan a few years ago at the festival and he was really good. I think it was during the day and in the A38.

? The Killers is official for Pukkelpop, the same day as Florence + The Machine.. which means one of them isn't headline material for Pukkelpop lol. So if Sziget gets The Kilers as a headliner , that would be... well... a disappointment.

And for now, The Killers and The Strokes seems to be the strongest Rock options for the 2 missing headline spots.

The Killers are the main headliner. Not a surprise Florence And The Machines are not headliner material anymore (I'm surprised she's ever been). Her headliner show announced on Werchter field last year was a big fail. Being sub at Pukkelpop is the best she can have. It wouldn't be a shame to see The Killers headliner at Sziget, don't see the problem here... In 2022, they had boring Arctic Monkeys and overrated Kings Of Leon as rock headliners.

when you know and like their music, these artists aren't boring. The musicians play very well, no mistakes, unlike some smaller bands. It's a matter of taste ^^

I'd like to see Sziget getting a name unannounced so far, almost an exclusivity. Killers and Strokes are good, BUT ... the line up wouldn't be great. Just good. I know that bands like Ghost and Avenged Sevenfold aren't "Szigetable" anymore lol, but still, I'm expecting a surprise.

Perhaps this is why Sziget appears to be having a 'Brits day' with Foals and Sam Fender on before her. That line-up would fill stadiums in the UK.

    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
