Yes, not the NHS one but an equivalent indeed. Now the goal is to do that without any breaks. I was worried about the knees too but if you just focus on getting it done without looking at speed/ paying attention to little aches, I found it OK, even though my knees are quite prone to injuries! Lots of stretching and warm up too. At my best I do 10 km/h in speed so the "running" is more a theory than a sight.

Anyway it's February now so you can start 😄

Ssshhh.

For motivation, I was surprised to see this pop in my French news feed  a couple of days ago:

Il recrée l'itinéraire de Forrest Gump et court 25.000 kilomètres | Slate.fr

Glasto-goer fitness goal ! ( @Superscally ) (the article has a shocking typo and is just a copy of the NY post article, and at first I thought this was a copycat but still... International fame!)

Ok so here's last weeks steps. As I said at the start of the week was going to be at my sisters for the weekend so I knew I wouldn't be able to do much but I did work hard at the start of the week to balance it out. The all you can eat pizza restaurant probably did more damage than the lack of steps but back to normal now.

Monday 14684

Tuesday 16169

Wednesday 18222

Thursday 12272

Friday 10400

Saturday 6941

Sunday 7166

well this is embarassing...

Mon: 12287

Wed: 14356
Thu: 6885
Fri: 4834
Sat: 3107
Sun: 9044

In my defence, I slept most of Saturday with a banging headache, but it was going downhill before then anyway.

Never mind, new week, new start. I'm gonna defeat the 85k this week!!! Starting with a trip to Ladybower reservoir today for some Dambusters inspiration!!!

Well done to everyone else.

New week I only got over the 85k by marching around services when we stopped. Lighter nights are coming as well that will help a lot and at least you didn't have an all you can eat pizza dining experience like me.

I'm back on the 10K training wagon! Took a swing at it last year but ended up giving myself an injury and dropping out. Signed up for the Edinburgh race at the end of May and hopefully only a few weeks off finishing C25K (for the third time 😅) - it would be nice to not be absolutely physically destroyed come Sunday night, especially with the extra strain of standing for 8 hours at a time on shift.

That's bloody impressive. Marathon should be a breeze posting that kind of time on that kind of terrain.

Cheers! 🙂 Ah, well, I think I find trail a bit easier than concrete. I did a 10k last Thursday evening and struggled a bit, frightened the life out of me knowing I had the trail run on Saturday 😄

Derbyshire never fails to amaze me… I fucking love this county!!! I know most of the UK is stunning, each county has it’s own thing, and we should all be proud of where we live… But there’s just something about these hills man!!! 😍😍😍

Nice I live on the edge of the Peak District myself. Must try and get to do some walks there myself this year.

I was pretty close to you today to be fair... Sure you already know but Ladybower is very northern Derbyshire, smack bang between Sheffield and Manchester, along snake pass.

Spent so many happy hols down  in thePeak district. When my kids were young we would do a deal with them that they could have two days in Alton Towers IF we could have the rest of the holiday walking and visiting the villages et in the Peak District. Used to stay in a wee village called Waterhouses.

Oh nice, Dovedale (I assume you visited there regularly from Waterhouses) is the OH's happy place. If she's ever feeling down, anxious or unhappy, that's the place to take her. Walk along the river for a few miles, passing the stepping stones and Thorpe Cloud, until you find a nice cave to sit in / explore.

Also one side of the river is Derbyshire, the other side is Staffordshire, so you litterally cross a border using stepping stones, which I think is kind of cool.

Yes, a lovely walk, also along the manifold trail, less busy than Dovedale

Only ever been there once, and forgot about it, actually not sure if Cara's ever been, she'd love Thor's cave too. What's the path like? Is it well made up path suitable for gentle winter walking?

Walked around Carsington today, not a bad place by any means, it's lovely but not the nicest res in Derbyshire.

Been a while but if I remember it’s a decent path with a cycle hire at the Waterhouses end, or it did when we used to visit.  Follows the Manifold river which disappears underground at certain parts. Quieter than the honeypot Dovedale.

Has anyone taken an Apple Watch to Glastonbury in the last few years?

Does the battery last the entire 5/6 days or do you have to use your power bank to charge it mid-festival?

No chance … 1.5 days at best for mine unfortunately although mine is a few years old now …. The latest ones might last 2 days but will definately need to be charged
