You not care for Love It If We Made It, or Give Yourself a Try

😁

Love It If We Made is a banger. I'm at the stage where I don't marry titles to songs well yet, so I'll Give Give Yourself a Try a Try.

I'm living for the moment Healey does his usual "ladies and gentlemen give it up for the greatest band in the word" line and this forum has a meltdown .

Yeah on that last album, I imagined Noel and Johnny Marr sat off in a cafe when they said they were "Manchester's Greatest Band and the World's" and spitting their tea out. 😄

Just for a bit of balance, I also spent the weekend listening to The 1975 on a couple of long drives. Was on the fence before but was surprised how many songs I already knew and liked. Think they’ll be my Friday headliner after all - think it’ll be pretty energetic and if they stick to the main hits I may even know most of them (still not a fan of Matt Healy though 😬).

Quite alright not to be. There's a few bands I love and yet find a key member particularly grating.

Nicely played.

Not sure on Marr's opinion, but Noel hates them. Conversely, Warren Ellis likes them.

Sounding increasingly like I can look forward to seeing you in the pit on Friday night 😉  Just need to work on @gazzared now

Then they must be the greatest band...in Manchester 😄

Ha, McCartney didn't get me to the pit...

I was thinking as I was running yesterday, if you were a 19 year old girl at your first Glasto, that 1975-Charli-ORod combo may never be beat...

100% - You can just imagine the reaction from my 19 year old Daughter who had decided not to go this year.  She is now desperate for resale tickets, when she could easily have had tickets in the bag already

Oh yeah, teenagers must be delighted.

Now watch Biffy Clyro get a TikTok boost.

We now go live to The Nal for the miserable bastard weather forecast. Nal?

I was convinced Simon Neil had kids of his own. Not sure why.

Anyway, The 1975. Despite many thinking they'll go the distance, I don't see two hours. Reckon they'll get a 105-minute slot and play about 95.

Biffy underneath will get seventy to seventy-five.

Yeah I was actually thinking today my 2 hour prediction feels a little long on reflection. About 1:40 sounds about right I think.

'TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME' is now their eighth Platinum single in the UK, joining:

Chocolate (3x)

Girls

It's Not Living (If It's Not With You)

Robbers

Sex

Somebody Else

The Sound (2x)

Their Gold singles (which will all be Platinum by the end of the year I imagine) are:

About You

If You're Too Shy (Let Me Know)

Love It If We Made It (this can't be far off...)

Love Me

It does fascinate me to say that, despite it being one of their best sellers here, Girls has been pretty much phased out of fixed live rotation in its entirety. Just nineteen shows on the last tour.

Ditto TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME to a lesser point. Came back at most dates of the last run, but was every other show on the tour before.

I reckon all twelve should be in the picture for the Pyramid, but I could buy those two both missing too.

Mulling this on another topic. Won't be like the mid-set cameo on their own terms - takes firmly away from the moment.

A duet can't be ruled out, but if so, then the question is what. They obviously featured on the BRAT remix album, but arguably it is one of the songs with the least amount of radio traction or crossover appeal.

I could see an argument that she played 360 with them and then stuck around to do a duet on one of their own tracks - possibly About You.
