Yeah but originally from Reddit someone posted it then deleted it, think they work for a music store and worried they'd lose their job

Nice one. Just looking through the thread now. I was supposed to have a very productive day at work today. That's gone to shit!

Ain’t no way an album called The Car is gonna be a bangerfest. Strap in for another loungey Tranquility Base-like album and people losing their minds that they’re no longer singing about losing a tenner in a fruity down the boozer on a school night.

It isn't loungey based on what we saw last night.

I enjoyed the Tranquillity Base sound so I welcome it.

From the Francis Monkman into they've been starting shows on to the snippet from the new song it sounds like this album is going to be a bit more funky so I'm really excited.

I like it too, but I know a large portion of their fanbase will be fuming if they come back with another album like that.

TBH&C was such a buzz kill of an album. Didn't click for me at all.

I am a fan of the album and like the sound they went for with it, but do think upon reflection it should have just been a Turner solo project album. It probably would have been received much more positively then too.

I like TBHC and far prefer it to AM.

Come at me.

With you I think. Saw them in Prague last week and been listening to them since and I can't help myself from just sticking TBHC more than the others.

I can imagine putting it on in the background if you need a nap but I don't honestly see any other logical reason for listening to that album.

Not trying to argue here but do you not enjoy when artists mix up their sound at bit and do something completely different? Like think of the sounds the Beatles started off with and how different the sounds of Revolution, Abbey Road, Sgt. Pepper's are. Even the Beach Boys run from Pet Sounds in 66 to Holland in 77 is so different from their early sound (when all songs were literally about surfing and girls) and they're much better.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with artists mixing up their sound and taking albums in different directions.

There's also nothing wrong in saying that in this case (in certain folk's opinions) that it hasn't worked as much as there's nothing wrong in saying it's a great album.

This seems a popular view from the likes the comment has got.

Perhaps I'm in the minority?

AM is by far the better of the two in my opinion.

Not doubting AM as a superb album but for me I just enjoy the vibe of TBHC.

Would probably pin it down to overplaying AM when it first came out, and siding with the opinion that TBHC was not good when that came out. So now TBHC feels less overplayed - for me at least.

    • I think it's a conscious decision this year not to publicize it beforehand. Not sure why. Maybe they have even removed the concept of a passport altogether and have something else... I like it because it helps me find parts of the program that don't function as slots in the timetable.
    • Still see Beach House with a new Album    and Tame Impala and The Strokes.
    • Yeah the rumour I heard is Glastonbury + Spurs stadium, the guy who posted it seems to be on the ball most of the time as well.   He's also now put one up for Sam fender summer shows
