The Weather Thread 2023

Look, its looking like a fairly typical weather pattern tbh for late June - hot, sunny, but with the threat of localised convectional rainfall in the PM or the same but drifting up from NW France into the South. Often fails to develop or misses the site altogether.

Looking at the trend developing and Gav’s update, I’d be happy with that. A few showers are actually quite nice.

35 degrees is not going to happen. If it did it would cause far more problems than a load of rain. People would be dropping like flies.

We managed 37 in 2019.

wondering what the FMS injury / illness stats are for different types of weather

I guess it’s different injuries. They get a lot of leg/ankle etc in mud years. But alot more heat exhaustion etc in hot ones

People overdo it on happy enhancers in hot years too. Nothing like a bit of sunshine to make you want 5x the amount of nice cold ciders you’d usually have

Ah

Thought you were on about proper happy enhancers

😀

The bods on the netweather forum seem to be suggesting that the GFS model is the outlier in forecasting unsettled weather. The other models going for more of a settled/hot outlook.

Yep. It’s gonna be a gooden! All pointing the right direction.
