So who could still play Bilbao, that hasn't already been added to the Primavera line up?

Chemical Brothers still free?

I doubt they will share more bigger names with Mad Cool.

I guess Kendrick will be back, if he decides to reschedule his gigs.

If not, maybe A$AP Rocky as a replacement. Co-head-structure with Chem Brothers would work too I guess, since Kendrick is bigger and probably more expensive than both.

Current plans at the minute would be to do Mad Cool Wednesday, BBK Thursday and then spend two days in Bilbao. But I'm waiting for the last names and less uncertainty to make a decision, and I don't think BBK will sell out given the quite cold reception on social media.

Though a day with Phoebe B, Caribou, Moderat, Placebo and an EU exclusive LCD for 66 euros is spectacular.

Instead of 2days in Bilbao, try 1 day there and head a bit north to San Sebastian. Amazing beach. Nice and cheap YHA hostel near the beach

Has reaction been muted? I think its surprisingly good. I'm a bit thrown by the prominence of Stromae though, is it because its so near to France?

Lots of tickets on Ticketswap already, and it's not sold out yet (many June/July festivals are). I've seen mixed reactions too.

I was planning to do Thursday only at first, but I've just got my combi ticket with 5 more days in the Basque country! Should be a treat.

Clearly agree with you, line up is quality. The LCD day is absolutely stellar and Stromae, The Killers, Pet Shop Boys should be a lot of fun (I'm Belgian and yet to see Stromae live).

The line-up here is actually very good. We may end up going.

Are there any BBK Live veterans here? There aren't too many cheap places to sleep, which isn't really suprising with just 2 months to the festival. I assume the shuttle buses take you to the stadium? Does the metro work in the night? Cause I'm afraid it'd be hard to catch a taxi and there aren't that many good accommodations near the stadium.

    • No worries, it's a perfectly fair question to ask. I would expect people to be talking at the back & near the bars & that is where I would want them to be talking. If your group are enjoying yourselves & the music & briefly chatting to say how much you are loving a certain song etc, you would be an ideal group to stand behind.   My issue is with people having full blown conversations (usually unrelated what is on the stage) whilst being surrounded by people who are trying to listen to the music. This was happening in the middle and towards the front of all stages, & so you have limited options to move around & you may have spent 20 minutes waiting for the band trying to get the closest position that you can. If there's a group of 8 people, there may be 2 or 3 that like the band & the rest will start talking if the music isn't their thing. This may be the norm now for festivals, and if it is, that's ok & I will focus on a band's own gigs & UK based new music festivals.    I'm also not including consequences of my own decision making. I saw Geese on Wednesday so went to Occident after Men I Trust finished so it was understandable there would be chatting that far back. Similarly, getting to The XX after Olivia Rodrigo along with most of the site, I knew my chance of a good spot & a chat-free zone had gone so that was completely reasonable.   PS. I went to Bilbao BBK in 2023 & 2025 & enjoyed it. For Pulp & Kylie in 2025, I got a position early & was surrounded by a respectful & fun crowd for both. The UK non-headlining bands tend to go on the undercover 3rd stage, & most people like to congregate outside so you can usually get close to the front of that stage.
    • Interview on 6 music earlier, was going to get the album to have a listen, but comes out the day they play the festival
    • Additional dates added already
    • I feel like it's not COMPLETELY beyond the realm of possibility that they could headline but I just don't see it.    They're not doing anything other than headlining. So nah, I don't see it.
    • Consider that the sound quality can be better near the front bars right behind the soundbooth rather than closer to the stage, like with mbv. And of course, the front sections are full of talkers too.   The most courteous move would be to have conversations in the very back of the field.
