there's a lot of social care visas being issued to non-social care workers - its being used as a scam somehow, not sure how, it might be other job applicants putting social care as they think a visa is more likely.

Maybe they are fleeing persecution but would also like some prospects of being able to build a life.

Process them and let them work. 

We have a long history of economic migrants being good for this country.

Economic migrants largely come to the UK to work. They arrive seeking gainful employment, and the UK's economy gains from their arrivals. Their applications take months and often years to process because the Tory's processing system is not fit for purpose, and all the while they receive minimal financial support and are not allowed to work.

If there is an economic drain, it's not because of the numbers of asylum seekers (which make up a tiny proportion of new arrivals in Britain), it's because the system is incapable of processing their claims efficiently. That said, around 75% of asylum claims are granted protection early on.

Since you disagree, I'd be interested to read the official sources and statistics which substantiate your claims. Please do share.

Deporting 200 migrants to Rwanda isn’t going to do anything to ‘stop the boats’, it’s just going to endanger more people. The Tories think they can trick people into believing they are solving the issue.

It worked for Albanians. Very few coming over the channel now apparently.

When i visted Nyungwe National Park it appeared to be an upcoming country. i know most of twitter seems to think if you go anywhere near Africa the locals will put you in the pot but believe me there are some great parts.

The 2 schemes are different, with the Albania deal we return Albanians to Albania. Whereas with the Rwanda deal it will be migrants from a 3rd country deported to Rwanda.

      People seem to have got obsessed about 'secret sets' at all festivals this year even when there aren't any spaces other than, in EOTR's case, the usual late Folly sets that 90%+ of the time are from artists who are already playing.

      I guess we'll just have to wait until videos of the shows go up, but the fact that the standing is also greyed out still suggests to me that those sections just sold out out before the others and a blue block just be like 3 tickets left, it's still not concrete proof they never went on sale and if they were never on sale why would they not make it even, if 414 wasn't on sale then you'd think 409 wouldn't be either

      I don’t think the festival automatically ‘need’ to have a female headliner if you have strong female headliners on the Other Stage (which I reckon will be Rosalia and Phoebe Bridgers), perhaps a female legend (praying for Annie, will take Cher), and a few female/mix gendered subs on the Pyramid (maybe London Grammar, The xx). From what I’ve seen of Sabrina, her team prioritises the pay day and I think she will be doing Wembley over Glasto weekend.   One thing I’ve noticed is a lot of the suggestions would be first time headliners and I can’t work out when the last time was that the festival had three artists top the bill that hadn’t topped it before? It seems to be something they like to do to make sure they have a ‘safe’ headliner that will land well with the masses. Plenty of names in that hat that could step back up next summer and should/could be about: Billie Eilish, Adele, Foo Fighters, The Cure, Radiohead, U2…hell, if Beyoncé is really planning to release a ‘rock n roll’ album to complete her Renaissance trilogy, Glastonbury would be a great place to ‘kick off’ that campaign for her.   And there’s always the Rihanna rumour. Her husband (I think) said this week she’s in the studio.
