Rumour is Tuchel is getting a 4.5 year deal. I don't see him lasting half that. We wanted Nagelsmann but weren't getting anywhere in that pursuit apparently. It was offered to Rangnick on an interim basis until the summer but he wasn't interested. Classic Chelsea.

Where Hiddink when you need him

All this unqualified talk, shouldn't have got the job talk... Yeah. No shit?! You don't sack someone because they shouldn't have had the job in the first place.

What?

Why would you compound a mistake by doing nothing about it once you’ve realised a mistake has been made?

Old Uncle Guus. Oh well, at least it's not Rafa.

I like Frank and agree with you in that he should have been given more time. But Rafa is a far better manager.

We knew we were nowhere near the league when he came him in and that it would be a rebuilding job. He got us CL last year (which nobody expected), promoted youth players and turned them into regulars (everyone moaned for years that we didn't do this), and we would have won the FA Cup had the referee not been shit. Last year was a good start. This year the improvement hasn't been good enough enough and yes, we are underperforming at the moment but look at Arteta and Ole. Form fluctuates. We are still in the FA Cup and Champions League. I think the club chose to give him the opportunity and he should have had the chance to at least see the season through.

Nobody is arguing that he was ready for the job or deserved the job in the first place so idk why everyone is obsessing over that.

Chelsea chop and change at will, no manager will be given time.

Pep is just a bit shit that side of things.

Hes won a bit more than your paperboy.

You're a £500 million Wimbledon.

Edit, thats unfair on Wimbledon as they actually won thr FA Cup.

Five years and the best part of a billion quid and he’s delivered what? Two league titles and a few League Cups.

Wow.

Broke pretty much every record going, revolutionised football in this country, played beautiful football and won a few pots on the way.

Or maybe you prefer the United way. Spent over a billion pound since they last won a title, played absolutely dire football and best achievement was coming second to City one season.

Just to add, hes also won an FA Cup as well, which was part of a domestic treble, which had never been done in this country before.

revolutionised football in this country,

I've heard this claim a lot but i genuinely haven't seen it justified. The biggest changes to football here have been brought about by Wenger, and by Abrahamovic and other huge money owners.

What sweeping changes (across the league, not just in Raheem Sterling and his signings) have happened post-Pep?

Thats not the discussion, pep has been very ordinary in the champions league since barca.

Playing out from the back and using the keeper as an extra outfield player, high press, actually passing the ball rather than lumping it down the channels, narrow full backs and using them as extra midfielders, creating overloads in the final third. No one else played like that in this country and now lots of other teams try to imitate it.

The discussion is Pep in comparison to Ole, not Peps record in the Champions League.

How does Peps record in Champions League compare to Alex Fergusons?

Who was comparing ole and pep? Different gravy.

Do you think pep has been successful since barca in the champions league?

I prefer neither.

Guardiola was brought in at great expense and fanfare with the aim of making City the dominant force both at home and in Europe.

He hasn’t done that.

If you think noone else did that in this country before Pep, you didn't watch any team play apart from City.

Also known as Bielsaball.

He revolutionised the way football is played and his many disciples brought that style of football over here.

Oh and he’s revolutionised fuck all.

Eh, he's revolutionised Sterling from a flighty winger with no end product to a goal-scoring penetrative wide forward. But it's players I'd say he's impacted, more than the league as a whole.

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
