There's some right old shite being spouted in Parliament today Jesus!! I've lost count on how many times sovereignty has been mentioned and lots of analogies been thrown about 🙄

yeah, this. Some real stupid shite. I wonder if they will be happy with it all when reality sinks in.

But what would happen if they don't vote for it? No deal right? Or are the numbers enough without their support?

Tories have an 80 odd majority.

In theory every single non Conservative in Parliament could vote against and it would still require a fairly hefty rebellion to fail

Thanks. So Labour don't really need to vote for it then...

On another note, just had this text from my GP. I don't need to go or anything but it is a bit worrying:

The NHS in NW London is under severe pressure at the moment due to high rate of COVID.  From today (30/12) GP surgeries are still open but have been advised to stop all non-urgent activity for at least 2 weeks. Please continue to contact us via phone or Econsult if you have serious symptoms or are worried about possible cancer symptoms. You may be asked to contact us at a later date for your non-urgent problems.  You can continue to request your repeat prescriptions as usual. Please attend any booked appointments including Child Immunisations

Might sound simplistic but I’d go for a three week full country wide lockdown to suppress the rate of infection and allow the professionals time to cope with the current horrendous hospital situation and start rolling out the vaccinations.  Be proactive not reactive, don’t wait until it’s out of control everywhere.

Go for a month from now, get fully on top of it.

I agree but it doesn't seem like that's going to happen. Do we think they will get forced into full lockdown next week?

Yeah I do, when we start to see the impact of Christmas mixing.
