henry bear
Sad news about Mark Hollis indeed, only 64.☹️
The Red Telephone
Terribly sad news. The last two albums are nigh-on perfect and his solo lp was very good also. I Believe In You and New Grass are such beautiful tracks. And the hits from previous records still stand up pretty well. Very hard to produce such great commercial and then experimental music, keep your integrity and legacy intact. RIP Mark. And thank you. milly16
Heart Broken. My one wish was to see this beautiful band get back together. Live at Montreux... never seen or heard passion as in Mark Hollis. very sad day
crocodiles
Terrible news for years i hoped I would get to see them . Some genuinely brilliant music left behind a fitting legacy for a great artist .
guypjfreak
If you had talk talk and pj on at the same time I'd have to watch talk talk.. Always been something I've wanted to see
tumbles
Pretty sure its Talk Talk the main sound engineer always blasts out on the pyramid when testing Thursday isnt it?
dingbat2
Talk Talk are one of the most underrated bands around, never got the recognition they deserved in the 80s. One of the few bands I still find myself listening to today, their music stills seems as fresh now as it did 30 years ago Sad news

henry bear
I saw them in 1982 at Milton Keynes - to me then they were Duran wannabe pop shite. How wrong I was.

bennyhana22
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9HsGsB-MCM I'll just leave this here for anyone who would like a lesson in genius. One of my favourite pieces of music ever, and one that should leave many 'musicians' hanging their heads in inadequacy... Rest well, Mark Hollis. buddiepaul
The most important band for me in my youth and through to today. Introduced me to a whole new concept of music with Spirit of Eden. I still listen to all of their albums on a regular basis and the evolution of styles is very interesting to hear. Mark's solo album was also a wonderful piece of music. Mark's music will live forever for a huge number of people, going by the lovely tributes today. dingbat2
Such quality, this was the first song/video I saw of them on a Saturday morning Chart Show on ITV in the mid to late 80's. It blew me away... I still absolutely love it, its brilliant. Nearly 35 years later it still gives me goose bumps. It works today as much as it did back then. I can always see myself playing Talk Talk albums in the future, I cant see how their music will ever seem dated....
Zacko
Just a truly incredible band, with more artistic progression than perhaps any other act I can think of. I always hoped that one day against the odds I'd get to see them, along with a reformed Cocteau Twins - alas.

Always think of Glastonbury when I hear it as has been mentioned above, regularly used by the sound blokes for the main stages. Great songwriter. Opening drumfill purfick for testing "levvullz". Theyve also blasted "Life's What You Make It" on a couple years.
