To be fair, as someone local to rize, I'll go with not much fuss over the lineup on a weekend but like hell am I taking annual leave for mediocrity

It’s a shame really.  Used to be a lot more down this way with Hop Farm, V/Rize, Vicars Picnic but they’ve all gone now.   Down to Leefest/Neverworld now and the prices for that has increased.

Essex Live is a notoriously shit website but nonetheless it’s hard to argue with what’s there. Shame it was my closest festival being only around 8 miles away and for the first 10 years or so it was absolute quality.

I think the emergence of the London day festivals has scuppered it a bit. I think there’s a market in Essex still but maybe something along the Victorious lines so the people that attended in the late 90s and early 00s can relive their youf innit.

To be fair, they put Stereophonics as a headliner with someone who was selling out his own outdoor gigs. Also the Liam day was much better imo.
