Andre91
Any early guesses on who the headliners for next year’s edition of Trees could be? My big one is Alkaline Trio. They’re active playing shows again and have a new album out tomorrow (which is excellent even though I definitely haven’t heard it ). They headlined back in 2015 but I don’t think that’d matter much. They’d go down a storm. Don Broco may also be a decent shout. Edited August 30, 2018 by Andre91
Chavmeisterdeluxe
Dunno if Alkaline Trio (Skiba mainly) would fancy coming back, had a face like a slapped arse in 2015 even before the power outage. The other two fully embraced trees and played acoustic sets all over the shop.
Jericode
Broco headlining would be sick, would be all over that. Frank Turner a shout if he's free?
Chavmeisterdeluxe
Frank Turner is always a shout Broco would be good, I think Shikari headlining will have opened a few UK acts eyes to it.

Definitely. I think Neck Deep could do it on their next album cycle too.
Jericode
Neck Deep are nailed on for 2020 in my opinion. Would have said next year but they've ruled themselves out. Frank Turner Thursday, Don Broco Friday, and oh let's say Frank Carter Saturday. Scenes if they get Weezer. stevieg1993
Is there any chance in hell they might go for somebody like Bullet For My Valentine? They'll never headline Download, they'ed get bottled off stage at Bloodstock. Only festivals I could see them headlining now would be Slam dunk or this. Jericode
Bullet won't do it, but I could see them making themselves an option in a few years when they burst their bubble and realise they aren't as good as they once were.
stevieg1993
I think their bubble burst around 3 years ago tbh.
Jericode
Not from their perspective since they just subbed Download and still think they can headline it. If they think they can headline Download why would they settle for 2000trees?
Andre91
There’s supposedly rumblings within the industry that Brand New might be going on tour before the end of this year Would they?

Pretty strong rumour they had them booked for this year then cancelled because of all the news that came out. Can't see them going anywhere near them at all even if they do start playing shows again. Seeing as some people are throwing predictions around I'm gonna go for something like this Thursday: Frank Turner The Menzingers Muncie Girls The Dirty Nil Martha Friday: Weezer Feeder Deaf Havana Gnarwolves Camp Cope Saturday: Neck Deep Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes Pup Tiny Moving Parts Milk Teeth
justanothername
Brand New and BFMV ain't happening. One of them has an outed nonce and the other doesn't suit the festival. Frank Turner / Don Broco / The Gaslight Anthem (I can't think of a 3rd reasonable headline tbh)
LiamEP
Frank carter and the rattlesnakes I’d bet, I know it’s only a 2 year gap but that’s the same gap as twin Atlantic had and frank didn’t headline last time.
Pop Punk Sucks
I could see Download or R+L taking a punt on Brand New, but would be a bad idea for a festival like 2000 Trees or Slam Dunk where they'd actually be a headliner. DomDom1984
Brand New are fucked for the forseeable future. NOBODY is booking them.
Jericode
The Gaslight Anthem would be a decent choice, could stick a Fallon solo set on another day too.
stevieg1993
I don't know what's going on with Gaslight Anthem. They've done 59 sound shows but I don't know if they've permanently come out of hiatus. Hopefully a new album for next year all being well as it would be 5 years since Get Hurt came out. I can see Brand New just calling it a day. Don't think anybody's going book them. Reputation as being tarnished. I'm surprised they haven't split up already. BlackFoxx
Think with Gaslight it was more of a one off thing for 59 Sound. Brian has said a few times about how he doesn't want to force another record out and atm seems more than content with his solo stuff (another UK tour in Feb) so don't seem them as likely. huntyyy
Suspect You me at Six will headline this next year. Don't think Don Broco will, they're too big now. Frank Carter - I expect his summer will just be a big slot at Reading and Leeds, fourth down main probably. Slaves? very possibly, have an affinity with the festival having played a few times on their way up. Frank Turner and Neck Deep are both appropriate headliners, although Neck Deep could be playing quite high up at Slam Dunk next year which would probably rule them out. I expect they'll be throwing money Weezers way as they're in Europe at the time. Bloody hope it's Weezer.
Chavmeisterdeluxe
Yeah they must be throwing money at Weezer for sure. Would love that.
