Napalm Death were incredible when I saw them at Download a few years back.

Will be happy to see them again. Awesome!

Website says they are playing on the Thursday? Is that right? Didn't think there would be much happening on the Thursday?

IDLES played on Thursday last year, so would imagine Napalm Death will play a similar slot.

Didn't Dead Kennedys fill in after ND dropped out last year? If so is it not likely that they'll play a similar slot to that? I'm pretty sure that was at 'headliner' time (i.e. last of the live acts on the bigger stages around 11-12?)

Fucking hell. Imagine if System Of A Down played!

Would be the best.

That would be an example of a headliner that was in "beyond wildest dreams" territory. I'd never even considered the idea of them appearing on the lineup, but now I have it seems such an obvious fit. Make it happen, Boomtown!

That would be amazing... it's definitely not a couple of bands that are on there though going off what's been said in this thread.

The acts I picked in the tournament are just for fun. A mixture of popular requests, and rumoured acts for this year. Some are unrealistic, and at least a couple might actually be there this year! We'll know for sure this coming Friday ?

Yep.

I haven't bought my ticket yet as I'm not sure if I'm going to go this year as I've a lot on. A lot hinges on the lineup for me this year - I know Boomtown is way more than that - so I've a few bands I'm hoping for that I've heard whispers of!

so The Happy Monday’s appear to be making themselves busy at festivals this summer. Given that Shaun Ryder was there with gorillaz last year perhaps he thought he’ll be back again. They seem like a likely booking.

anyone seen them before? Were they any good ?

I saw them at Glastonbury in 2000 and they were such a complete car crash that it was immensely entertaining :D Although Sean and Bez aren't bang on the gear these days, so would imagine it'll be a lot more professional.
See the below clip for evidence.

I saw them support Oasis in 2000... the main things I remember about them is bez in a stupid hat & they had to start a tune 3 times cos Shaun couldnt work out what was going on.

As for Friday's big reveal... Prophets of Rage & Groove Armada seem quite likely. Along with Prophets, Aphex Twin is my big hope for Boomtown. I'd rather seem him there than at Glastonbury.

What time is the reveal? 7pm?

Not sure on the time it'll be revealed. UB40 are being heavily linked too.
