NOS Alive 2019

Good addition, but Primal Scream played the second stage in 2011, so I think they're completely running out of options.

PS: the only way The Strokes could play NOS Alive would be on Saturday.

It's not unusual for bands to headline a smaller stage and then play lower down on a bigger stage in a later year (or vice versa). It's a bit of a 'safe/easy'  booking' though. Their appeal is pretty broad - but most people who want to will, I'm sure, have caught them somewhere before by now!

Ah, they are down for the the Sunday. Still playing Bilbao on the Friday.

Primal Scream still listed for the Friday of Mad Cool weirdly.

? Primal Scream aren't playing Bilbao or Mad Cool.

They announced for Nos today and I hope Mad cool later in month.

They played Bilbao 2017 i think.

Doctor Music isn't listed as a tour date on Primal Scream's website now

Edit- And I think I read Doctor Music may be moving to near Barcelona?? Primal Scream are playing Primavera Sound there so maybe contractually bands that are playing both can no longer do Doctor Music due to location?

I don't even think it needs two big names, the Friday is a Tame Impala away from being a decent day. It will still end up being the weakest day overall but I'd be pretty happy with a day of Tame Impala, Vampire Weekend and Primal Scream.

One good name is enough to remind us that the lineup is already great; many other names are coming, so only good things!! ?

    • Policing is very relaxed, provided you stay within your lines I'd say. I don't think we're supposed to have an event shelter as well as a tent next to our van, but we've done it without issue for years. It's a happy vibe up there.
    • Do feel a lot more cynical about the Mercury now. Given the awards show is now an arena event, there's clearly a pressure on them to nominate mainstream acts in order to sell tickets for it. And not saying that Jade and Knats don't deserve to be nominated (haven't listened to either), but the fact the event is in Newcastle can't have nothing to do with that... (not to mention Fender winning last year, which frankly was a joke)    Hard not to agree with this: https://www.clashmusic.com/features/this-years-mercury-prize-is-a-pivot-towards-the-mainstream/
