Rich has said on a thread on the BT Chat site on Facebook that 'We have two very good bands who are totally different, one on a full UK exclusive and the other only doing a few UK shows. One being BT on its own and the other shows later in the year'!

So I'd say that that puts The Mondays out of the running, and probably Frank / Paul & Jacqui as well!

Intriguing anyway....roll on next Friday!:D

That does rule out Frank, he's got a new album out and said he's doing loads of shows.

I'm hoping for The Cult but that's based on no logic whatsoever.

Gah...

Any ideas for the 2 headliners?

Heed my words - for they are a truth. Friday and Saturday headliners will be:

Franz Ferdinand

or The Cult

or The Sisters of Mercy

or The The

or Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbot

or Happy Mondays

or Leftfield

or Primal Scream

or The Stranglers (although they played a coupe of years ago)

or The Charlatans (at a push, not sure they'd go down well with the BT crowd)

or Public Service Broadcasting (although they're probably not quite big enough)

or another band I haven't thought of.

I would be made up if The Sisters of Mercy played :)

I would put my money on Primal Scream , especially with their mates JAMC playing !

i had a dream last night that i was watching david byrne in gails tea tent.

it was ace then the alarm went off.

Thought The Alarm were a bit shit last year. All that running between mics did my head in.

Oh... hang on.

Anyways.... BT Twitter has confirmed the announcement will be 7pm tomorrow.

Plant is the one only doing a few shows (BT and Bath), so the other is the UK exclusive. Exciting times.

I’ve a hunch it’ll be The Flaming Lips

Shut the front door.!

i saw Flamings Lips for the first time last year on The Park at Glastonbury.. It was just joyous..

The only fault was that they headlined on Friday and so, nothing got anywhere close to matching them for the rest of the weekend.. I wish they had closed the festival on Sunday..

I would love it to happen but sadly cant see it coming to pass..

They said over on the bt forum its going to be a younger act than plant and cliff  so it could be anyone really.

The friday has an indie/britpop feel to it so they could be going down that route.

Shed seven or something like that would fit the friday.

    • I’ve had a good sleep and I feel weirdly zen about the whole thing.   My first Primavera, so not the greatest first impression. I guess today couldn’t be any worse, right?   Thoroughly enjoyed Men I Trust and Geese. Cupra is a beautiful stage and the crowd seemed fun, friendly and engaged.   I think it probably could have gone even worse, considering how dangerous the crowding felt at times.   Anyway, we go again.
    • Brighton centre is a weird old venue for the Mary Wallopers - a great band, a really good live spectacle, and its a saturday night as well which sets it all up - but its at the bloody Centre? a charmless nonsense of a conference centre? Brighton dome is a ten min walk away and is so much nicer a place to see bands its ridiculous!    ah well, i'll probably mosy along anyways . . .
    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
