No problem Guy. Your wish is my command. Do you want me to put out some "do not camp here" tape around your pitch? :stop:

Now your talking ask digger if he has got any police back off tape hanging around you could use.. That should do the trick.. If it's fine with you I'll put my flagpole and flags in the post and you could pop that up in say 45 days and that way I'll be able to to just stroll in and claim my land lol xxxx

Cheers :)

Ok so just back from today's run shufffle around the farm. So to answer your question crazyfool There was no new hardcore on that slope by the longdrops at the railway line.

The hardcore on the slopes off the railway line starts at Permaculture and goes west until just before Glade.

There was a new slope at the SE corner off the railway line towards Block 9 and another (as you walk along the railway line towards SE corner, it's the second on the left after Croissant Neuf crossroads) was blocked off with a pile of dirt. Not sure whether that's to block it or build it up.

There is a LOT of hardcore on the new road/track that runs close to the railway track but on the south side in the SE corner. It's a wide track going into where the bull ring was.

A large silver wing - the one from the main stage (think 2015 peace clock) - was on its way somewhere ...I'm not letting on where.

West Holts bits an pieces  are in the field.

Guys are out checking out the fence line.

First bits of trackway are in the compound of 'arris fencing at Red gate

I'm off for a shower

Yes Guy, they have put hardcore down on one entrance and there is now a hardcore road that goes all around the back of the field. Don't normally run down that way but maybe I'll have a gander today. Last time I went down to the woodlands and that is looking so good! The lake is obviously going to be a big feature now. I reckon they will light it all up and maybe put lights in the water too like they do at Shambala. That would be great.

I'm loving the detailed description, thanks @deebeedoobee I've only been the once before but you describe it so beautifully I can see it all :)

No problem. I can go find out things on my evening runs around the site for a few more weeks then it will be no go, apart from any sneakybeaky visits but thems can not be reported

All these site improvements sound great! I think the biggest struggle for us was the entrance to the naughty corner being so muddy and us not being completely all there brain-wise. I would have loved to see some footage of people in a state like us traversing the squelchy, sucky mud in the queues on a mission to Shangri-Hell... xD

My mate got beached.. i went in and successfully got him out.. then my mate grabbed me and we both fell... Once we'd got up and had a laugh about it and calmed down the wife went crashing into the bin next to us as her body moved but legs didn't.

Bet it was brilliant to watch

Someone could have made a fortune just filming all these incidents! One of my favourite videos from last year...

Haha, was that in the pyramid field? I remember a big group of people sat in a line with deckchairs and everything just watching this bit of mud. It didn't look too bad but everyone that walked through it got stuck. Cue massive cheers and tears of laughter. Fantastic times.:)

The Festival team have been working hard with the local farmers and land owners to improve the car parks for 2017, including laying 4 km of stone farm tracks, changing layouts to reduce congestion and reviewing the total amount of Trackway within the car parks. We are still parking on farmland and will be subject to weather conditions, but going forward we have a more robust operation than we have ever had to cope with what mother nature throws at us.

So im doing some reasearch for a friend today on offensive content on message boards and stumbled across this bit of info. Not sure if its new to any of you, i think this seems like the best thread for it...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

OK, a belated few points from the Taunton Info Crew training :

1. There'll be a new option for (public-ticket) campervans, particularly large ones. As well as the existing/continuing two fields, they could also choose, if they were mad or paranoid about mudbathery, to camp at the Bath and West Showground. With a free shuttlebus service connecting the festival site with Bath and West. BUT I couldn't get information about times of last buses from the frstival :hmm:

2. Cinemarmageddon : Yes, Joe Rush and Julien Temple are the organisers. It will be opening up on the Wednesday (evening, probably) and the show there will commence with a screening of Julien Temple's 'Glastonbury'. Surely not!! But I imagine stuff will start to get more exciting after that (and it's a pretty good film to watch again, or for the first time, anyway).

3. There will be NO free cloth bags handed out at the entrances as people arrive. Yeo Valley, of local yoghurt fame, are no longer sponsoring the bags. Instead, unsponsored versions (which look nice) will be sold at all the Info points for £4=. Plus some of us will be selling spare stock post-festival, at the exits on the Monday. I would have thought as well that the Guardian stalls will also still be handing out bags to people buying newspapers. But when people first arrive, they'll have to shove their programme and goodies into the binbags being dispensed (?)

4. In better news, there will apparantly be 10 kilometres of new stone roads in the carparks and campervan fields (see point 1 ;) ). And also, more tracking available on site for pathways. Vaguer point that last one, because I didn't grap any real details  but if anyone hears more about tracks and paths, please expand.

5. Arcadia : I'm fairly confident (paolo ? ) that the only entrance this year will be at the top of their field, from the road coming from the Park. The other entrance at the bottom of their field, either isn't there or will be exit-only. Bear in mind here that our Info bosses don't tend to get told everything until quite late, sometimes after the festival site has opened to crew. So count point 5 as just an early possibility to be checked properly later.

6. Dairy Ground crew-camping field has lost some of its space to public camping, yes, but the Security crew who've also been camping for a few years in the far corner of DG (nearest to Pedestrian Gate D) are OUT. These were the smallest of the security crews, but a reasonably significant number all the same. They've been moved offsite to where other Security crews go (?). Info and Property Lockup crews will therefore be less likely to lose much(or any??) space, but we don't yet know which other crews might remain, or come in. Up to now, any other crews in DG have been tiny in number ...

Point 5 about Arcadia - slightly confused. How else would you get into that field than from the bottom. In fact how will I get to the Park without walking through there? <goes to look at map>

The entrance is beside the long drops at the bottom of the park. Where I took this photo from

does he just mean closing off the gap at the very top right of Arcadia field, and making it exit only? that seems pointless as the flow of people will be greater coming in, so sending them all down the path to the right and having to do a u-turn to get to Arcadia seems a bit daft.

the "only entrance" won't be at The PArk either, as there's the path running from Paines all along the south of the field where people can enter from. I'm assuming they're not going to barrier that off as that would be compeletely stupid.

that's the entrance to The Park, looking towards Arcadia?

all along the bottom of that field is wideopen and leads into Paines Ground, and all the camping above The Park.

unless they're completely fencing off all of the bottom of the Arcadia field, I can't see that happening at all.

e: by "bottom" I mean the bottom as you look at the map. in the description, they obviously mean the opposite end, ie. the bit that runs along Park Home Ground.

either way, what he has said makes no sense, unless they're completely barriering off the field on the north end at Park Home Ground (either completely or leaving enough for an exit), and at the south end, which would mean people coming from Paines have to walk all the way up to the Park entrance to get into the Arcadia field, which seems like a complete waste of time, and penning everyone in seems like a dreadful idea.

Probably for crowd management.

That lane that runs along the arcadia field on the way up to The Park can get very congested.
