Ah...maybe.  Wasn't there and didn't check, just presumed he didn't opt to be so crowdpleasing.

He nailed it chief.

One of the greatest balls out gigs in the history of the field.

A wild unrepentant maniac from about 8 mins 50

I reckon if I went around uni tomorrow asking who'd heard of Arcade Fire easily more than 50% of people would say yes.

I reckon if I went around uni tomorrow asking who'd heard of Nick Cave I reckon around -20% of people would say yes.

“Who is that old dude?”

”and why is he asking everyone about Nick Cave?”

If they don't know him, just show them a picture of him.

They still won't recognise him, but his hair will cheer them up.

Would be perfect. Two great acts and an average new act being given their chance whilst I can head off to the Park to see MBV.

Tbh if they were to go for a more offbeat headliner like Cavey 2019 would be the year to do it, with Coldplay's big gammon blowout to follow for the 50th.

I was going to say it'd be the weakest trio of headliners since the early noughties.  But then 2014 was hardly blockbusting.

Not huge but each of those would be a special booking in their own way. And yeah with 2020 to follow it might be the chance to take some risks.

Yeah 1975/Kendrick/Cave in 2019 followed by Elton John/Arctic Monkeys/Coldplay in 2020 init.

Anyway I don't even think Cave will still be touring next Summer.
