Could QOTSA do it? They are at a festival in Denmark that weekend (7th to the 9th) So if it was on the 7th they could still do the 9th at Download? They may have not been planning to do any fests but they could have last minute offered to fill in for Metallica?

Heh, not to prove that every announcement has its moaners but I was half expecting some undercard to round off the announcements this week. I suppose if the main names are who we expect then most still have tours to sell.

It feels like a coup. No other way to put it, I'd say. Sure, there'll be moaners - and there's a lot on Twitter - but this is the sort of big name booking that should certainly help them get some of their best sales in years.

Getting them in Paris and Madrid too is pretty stellar work for the Download brand. They’ll probably have more locations next year.
