But this seems he just turned him down? ie not 3 weeks before the festival. Just, "no thanks"?!

Interesting he's picked very much the old guard rock bands as his favourite performances - safe to say where Emily's influence has been the last decade or so. Plus he's listed Oasis - they are pretty well accepted to have under performed when they've played the festival.

2000 had a lot more than 207k on site, even given the potential offsite people. Guessitmates are closer to 250k and possibly more. I think it had a 160k ticket allocation, so understandably it was the year that changed the festival forever!

Interesting article, Michael's usual dalliance with exaggeration can always be forgiven in my eyes.  Cheers for posting it.

Shikara also on after Slash I think. I'm sure she was giving me the eye during her set. I had to say no though. That was a great line up for me that day. King Blues in Leftfield after that, Toots on West Holts, then Stevie Wonder to close, walking back to tent caught the last part of the Levellers in the Glade.

Just checked and realised Shakira was on the Saturday(she still fancied me though), think I was still bright red from getting a touch of sun during the efest world cup match!

hey, Liverpudlians owe the continued existence of Liverpool to him, so he's quite a popular guy.

I was at U2 and liked it.  I am a big Primal Scream fan too so had to think long and hard about the clash.

The weather was unfortunate.  I have watched bands in the rain before but it was particularly miserable during their set.

Would be very pleased if they came back.  Their stadium shows are amazing in terms of screens, lights and trickery, but there is something to be said for a straightforward - band only - greatest hits performance.

I wasn't going to Glastonbury when he last appeared...but I LOVE Ray Davies and would love to see this!
