Changing photo now an option

Watergirl

Recommended Posts

I just looked up my registration to see if it is still valid and it seems that changing the photo is an option this time. I don't think that was possible in previous years.

I haven't tried it mind. I am superstitious and would worry that changing anything about the registration might jinx my chances.

Did you get tickets for 2016?  If so then the ability to submit a new photo shows they have fixed a problem that existed until a few weeks ago that prevented changing a photo if you had 2016 tickets.

We tried to but were advised by See to submit new registrations instead....which I actually feel more comfortable with.

Presumably you can only do this up until ticket day? Or they have people checking the before and after photos to make sure they're similar enough??

From an email that the festival have just sent out:

We recommend completing any changes to your registration by Friday 30th September, to allow time to re-submit your registration if you need to. Registration will close at 12 noon on Monday 3rd October, after which there will be no opportunity to submit/re-submit a registration until after both ticket sales.

I think the idea is that they'd lime like people to update ones that are a few years old to prevent confusion at the gates if you have changed dramatically!

I won't change it as it took about 4 goes to get the photos accepted last time

I registered a mate on Monday and it was accepted and sorted within about 4 hours of submitting it

I tried to change mine. Got an email back saying it hadn't been accepted and they'd cancelled my registration. Had to re-register. Well try, just submitted my third attempt. It's a pain in the arse.

Same happened to me and three further attempts to re-register

somewhat worrying but finally successful

Reckon I had better do a new one as the one on there currently is at least 4 years old now. Plus I have a beard and look about 2 years older today...

Any tips for doing one with a mobile cam - not paying for one of those overpriced passport photos just to scan it in.

It's very easy to do on a mobile. Updated the Mrs one last week. Using your phone go to the link that they send you to access your registration and then click on change/update photo, it will then give you the option to access your photos and chose the one you want to use.

When were photos first needed? About '07, '08 or' 09 was it?

Whatever year, mine has not changed since, and it was taken a good few years before I submitted it, so it's a picture of me at least a decade ago. I'm not changing it now.

My passport picture is even worse. They last ten years and I'm on my second one. That was an old photo, and by the time my current one runs out I'll be close to a quarter of a century older. And I had a huge dental abscess in that one.

One of those is my avatar on Twitter.

Vanity, you're a bitch.

(My Driving License is still paper).

Cheers. I sought of meant actually taking one on a mobile that looks like a passport photo. My last attempt a few years ago got approved, but to me it wasn't that great tbh...

I submitted new registrations for me and MrsP a couple of weeks back using photos taken on mobile.  Took them in decent light against a plain wall, uploaded and cropped on the Seetickets reg page.

Both accepted first time.
