Want my three headliners to be Radiohead (Py), Aphex Twin (WH), NIN (Ot).

I have more mainstream (and far less modern) tastes than most of you!

Bruce Springsteen

Foos

Diana Ross (legend)

Take That/Robbie (I know this would go down like a lead balloon amongst most people here but I think it would be great fun)

Human League or Spandau for the laughs and memories

Fleetwood Mac

Carole King (unlikely)

Leonard Cohen

But if none of these are there AND I get a ticket, I'm sure I'll find new bands to see thanks to @Brave Sir Robin's playlist when it evolves.  This year it was St Paul and the Broken Bones, Man and the Echo, John Grant and Band of Horses - and I'd be happy to see any of these again next year.

and there were loads on my list this year that I didn't get to see - so ditto wouldn't be upset to see them on next year's lineup!

Actually, anyone will do!

No idea where to put it, but seeing as some people in here are wishing for them, where would The Flaming Lips play now? I was thinking John Peel as they seem of a similar stature to Sigur Rós to me. Would they fit on West Holts, style-wise? I don't really know their music well enough to say.

Yeah I reckon they would be big enough for John Peel. Definately wouldn't fire West Holts (then again I haven't listened to any of their new stuff since they released The Terror. Am I missing out on anything?)

They headlined Other last time they played, didn't they? I was more wondering if they were now small enough for JP :P

I thought size-wise they were probably right for WH but not a good fit style-wise. Basically the exact same scenario as Sigur Rós; and yeah JP headliner seems the best bet to me.

They did headline Other, but it was the smallest Other headliner crowd I've ever seen. I basically walked right up to the front for that one, and then had a great time!

Yeah that's right, in 2010. Amazing gig that was. One of the best I've seen at Glastonbury.

I wasn't there, but I a lot of people on here are raving about how well Sigur Ros worked in John Peel and I can imagine the Flaming Lips working really well in there too.

Flaming Lips headlining The Other....

I was very sunburnt and depressed about it on the Friday. So I decided to eat pills and drink a shitload of cider all day. By 8pm, Im dehydrated and pretty fucked.

Me - "I want to watch the flaming lips"

My mates - "We want to watch Gorilliaz"

Me "I feel pretty faint..."

Mates "Stay here, watch the Gorillaz and we will look after you" passes me water.

11:15 ish -

Mates -  "This is fucking shit. We are off to watch Fatboy slim"

So we go there... see fuck all cos we are too far back.

5 days later...

Me - Watches The Flaming Lips back, amazing... I hate everyone.

Still never seen them.

First and second time I saw them all my mates didn't want to see them both times at festivals. First time after the show they wanted to see sucked we caught half a set from WAY back and I was so memorized... Second time I won the debate but we got there late saw them from SO FAR back again and it was so good... Third time I said fuck the mates and saw them front row center Red Rocks and was the best show I've ever been to. They did Soft Bulletin with the symphony. I am forever a Lips fan. Point is a lot of people don't get their music as it is "Okay" in headphones and just amazing live so ignore those mates next time! Took me three tries to figure that out.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
