A fortnight or so ago, someone found a promoters tweet about an act with a "pre glastonbury gig" which couldnt be announced until today.

Think the venue was Gorilla in manchester. I assumed it couldnt be announced as they were not on the initial poster and we would get them yesterday or today at some point.

That's the kind of idle speculation with a little bit of evidence that I like to excite me throughout the day

Didn't we pin our hopes on a venue announcing a pre glasto gig last year? Only for them to announce it but nothing came from the festival.

I may have dreamt that...

Apologies for that.

No worries my friend!

Anyway... Anyone think the festival might slide it out this afternoon? Seems most are expecting tomorrow so would be apt if they did the unexpected.

Ah. I've this theory before and I like it. The announcements are so random and chaotic that they must go against any vague pattern (not that there are many patterns to be begin with). They should be so random and chaotic that we start to believe there could be an announcement at any time, even in August or something ridiculous like that.

This all sounds very familiar...

Goldblum needs to be sent to Glastonbury HQ:

"You can't keep the poster suppressed Michael. It'll get out. Life, uh, finds a way..."

Michael creates Glastonbury

Glastonbury creates Efests

Efests creates The Thingy

Catfish destroy Glastonbury

The Thingy inherits the Earth

Chap last week also mentioned he interviewed a couple of smaller acts who aren't on the poster who told him they weren't allowed to say they were playing before last Thursday.  I assumed that meant an embargo date (as has been mentioned by some of the stage/area organisers in the last couple of years) was that date, but sadly nothing has come to pass.

That was me. I checked in with the acts and their press teams to see if they were happy with the articles, interviews and reactions, no complaints of the mention of Glastonbury in said articles. So not sure what went off. But to be fair the articles focus on another festival for all the acts, with just a passing mention of Glasto.

    • Looking like will be bringing a 2-3 month old to Glastonbury next year
    • Healey's first budget with be Oct 28th
    • Been going for 10 years. Wasn't massively keen on the lineup beforehand - although as usual after some research I did start to really look forward to it. We had a brilliant time, felt more like old school Latitude, lovely vibe and we met some nice people. We saw loads but highlights for me -   Lime Garden Florence Road Jalen Ngonda David Byrne - Not a fan of him or TH really but we went out of interest and it was one of those festival shows that you'll never forget. The staging was off the scale. Eleni Drake - Up on BBC Introducing, what a haven that stage is.  Westside Cowboy Getdown Services - Probably highlight of the weekend for me. Absolutely brilliant and have booked tix for them in Bristol next year. Everything Everything - They're my favourite band so I loved it when they were added. A great start to Sunday and met loads of their fans up near the front. Alex James Britpop - We enjoyed it and Gary Stringer FFS! David O'Doherty - Saw him twice, brilliant as usual. Self Esteem - Adore Rebecca and the show was as live affirming as always.   Overall, it was such a brilliant weekend. Beforehand we said that we might give it a miss next year but I'm pretty sure that we'll be sucked right back in!
    • Me too.  Reckon they must have more this year.   Not bad is it - ended up paying same price as this year.  It still represents great value for me.  Well, until I check my bank account the Monday after the weekend.
    • Well mayors have more powers to do that sh*t...but they have to make the numbers add up.
