So if I buy a ticket in the coach resale, I can't choose the departure time, but if I get a ticket in the general resale then I can just go on the National Express site, buy coach seats on there and choose the departure time I want?

I believe this to be correct, yes

Quite annoying really. I usually do it the expensive way and stop over Bristol on the Tuesday night before, and then on the Monday night after the festival, but looking to do it cheaper this year. Last year I had my tent up by 10.30am.

Looking at these coach times from Newcastle, the earliest one that could get me there on the Wednesday is if I departed at 00.15am, but that would include getting off at London onto a different bus, which makes the journey nearly 11 hours, and I would get to Glastonbury at 11am. Can get a much shorter journey by getting the 8.15am coach from Newcastle, but I wouldn't arrive until 15:50pm. Bit of a pisser really. The first option gets me to the festival nearly 5 hours earlier, but the second option cuts 3 hours off my travel time, and I don't have to change.

In terms of the best travel arrangements - think it's always better to get just the ticket, and then Nat Express or Train it... The advantage of the coach tickets is that you probably have a better chance of actually getting tickets (from London, they seem to be slightly cheaper than National Express as well, don't know how universal that is....)

Does anyone else feel that the hype around the resale seems *a lot* more quiet this year? Of course this is entirely down to perception but this thread and other threads seem rather quiet compared to how I remember it in previous years... I feel I've noticed a lot of people not paying their full balance too.

Likelihood is I've read the situation entirely wrong and I'm just trying to ease my mind for the resales as I'm bricking it...!

As you say, the coach tickets often don't sell out quite so quickly, so sometimes it's just the case of either getting one that way or not going.

A couple of years ago I had to try for tickets in the resale. First I went for coach tickets and got nowhere. So then I tried for normal tickets on the Sunday and got one within 1 minute of them going on sale. So never give up hope! My fingers are crossed for you and for everyone else!

hunch, based on last year.

What I didn't hear because I'm not allowed to repeat things I did hear is that no announcement is currently scheduled, which would suggest there's not one this week.

My hunch feels like it's more likely to be on the money.

Well if we don't hear anything before the coach resale I managed to get a seat on an evening with Michael at Pilton Village Hall this Thursday evening, I'll see if I can extract any information from the man then :-)

Surely we're not expecting anything this week?

Aren't we ahead on last year as things currently stand? I don't think we'll be hearing anything else for another 2 weeks. Then if they're planning on drip feeding like last year we won't get a full line up until early June.

Must admit I enjoyed the stage by stage announcements last year so hope they go with that again!

Neil thinks maybe tomorrow. No evidence to suggest that it's going to happen, just a hunch. Personally I'd like to see the main stages (Pyramid, Other, JP, West Holts, Park) concluded this week then maybe one area per week announcing their lineups (Glade, Shangri-La, Arcadia, Beat Hotel, Avalon, etc)

Far more likely to be the other way round. That's how it was last year, and the smaller areas attract more interest if they're announced first.

Our group is after 3 tickets preferably going by coach, what is the best way to go about it? Try for 2 lots of tickets in the coach sale or use the general resale then get national express tickets? Has anyone used national express before?

I'm trying in the coach resale for 8 (yeah, I know). I'm pretty sure you get to pick your coach time but does anyone know the earliest coach available from London on the Wednesday?

I think it's just London you get to choose a time. From memory I think the earliest time was 4AM?
