Recommendations would be very welcome thanks.

Kurt Vile is a must see for me this year. Will also likely check out John Grant, Art Garfunkel and Band Of Horses.

Anyone else on the bill I should be noticing?

If something is not strictly under those "labels" but along a similar American Indie vein then that'll be cool too.

god i hope that, even with a new album out, Band of Horses still play a Cease To Begin/Everything All The Time heavy setlist. so much love for those two albums but literally zero interest in hearing anything from the others played live*

*not really on topic, but i just wanted to say it

I really want Richmond Fontaine to play, but I know that they almost certainly won't.

They're by far my favourite Americana/Alt.Country band, and Willy Vlautin is a genius.

I'm seeing them a week on Tuesday, mind so that's good. What's bad is that this has been declared as the last RF album and so, perhaps, the last time we'll get to see them...

Really hoping that the Chris Robinson Brotherhood head over during the two week gap in their US tour dates. Pretty far removed from the Black Crowes stuff, a lot more blissed out, jam band, psyche vibe.

I also can't wait for Band Of Horses and will second the motion for a CTB/EALT heavy setlist. However Infinite Arms I also love equally to those two. Last album was a real let down I thought.

I avoided them for years but finally got into them with 'we used to think the freeway sounded like a river' but nothing else I've heard has moved me as much as that album. Are they decent live?

Oh, they're flippin' ace, Mardy. I've seen them a few times now. The most nostalgic of this was when they played Tingewick Village Hall. That'll mean nothing to almost everyone, but was incredibly poignant for me as it is nothing more than a simple, small village hall about 5 miles from where I grew up and, more importantly, the venue for all of my band's rehearsals in the 80's! In fact, it was the site of our greatest triumph, when we managed to bag a support slot opening for a 'supergroup' made up of Bernie Marsden and Micky Moody (Whitesnake) and Andy Taylor of Duran Duran!

Best RF gig was them headlining the second stage at End of the Road in 2009, where they almost blew the roof off the tent. When they rock out, they have a right good go!

New record is great - classic RF. Takes a while for the melodies and hooks to bed in, but when they do it's excellent. If you wanted another record to try, then go for Post To Wire  - considered by almost everyone to be their magnum opus. 13 Cities is also pretty fabbo.

Post to Wire is a lovely record. If I'd enough cash I'd toddle along to their show in Dublin at the end of the month. Just listening to "The Eagles Lodge" from High Country here in the office... "All I wanna do is drown with you, while theyre all watchin'". Choice.

Country Rawk!

If you haven't seen them before Woodster, then do it soon as they are for a limited time only, I fear...

Ben

I've not seen them yet mate, no. Think Mardy and me had a chinwag about them a couple years back. "I could fahking kiss you Dave!" when I mentioned "Always on the ride".

Today I have been mostly listening to Golden Smog and Drive By Truckers so should be just in the mood for these by the sound of it, shall give them a whirl.

Ben in 'Gnomicide likes something Ben has bigged up' shocker.

"Hope & Repair" is the one that stopped me in my tracks the first time I heard it.

You lads are gonna be wailing tears of joy when The Lumineers arrive and get their washtub bass out.

That "Ho! Hey!" track has CallyGonGlasto written ALL over it.

You can't give us all that without telling us your band name!

Well...

...it was MISPЯINT

With the 'R' reversed like that on our hand-screen-printed t-shirts.

Because we were fucking cool.
