Floating Points

This is the potential nightmare scenario. And, heresy aside, given that I'm seeing RH at the Roundhouse, I'm pretty sure that I would take FloPo over Thom and Co. I HAVE to see Kuiper live, and sunset at WH would not be too shabby.

Oh just give me the flippin' line-up, Eavii!!!

:)

Floating Points, I have got into since the line up and is very high up on my to see list... but Radiohead win that one.

Just watched Kuiper for something like the 15th time. I think I'm reaching @bennyhana22 levels of appreciation for it. What a piece of work that track is.

I've been mulling over whether to mark him down as a must see since the lineup came out considering I've already seen the live show, and I guess I'm still going to wait till the clashfinder comes out, but I'm pretty much set on the idea now.

Saw FP at field day. There was a lot of talking and it stopped it being so immersive. If the park is loud enough then it'll be good.

*i'll be at Art..

This was my issue at the Manchester show. Was very frustrating but the show took over in the end, it's that good.

having seen both at primavera, flopo should definitely be your #1 choice - tame impala were so so boring

Did you have a nice time tuna? Who were you highlights

I'm definitely leaning towards Flo Po and the end of Chvrches

yeah was good but bloody hot. they need somewhere grassy to sit and chill - it really missed that. Brian Wilson, Radiohead, LCD, Sigur Ros, PJ Harvey were the big names and all amazing. GOAT, BEAK>, Flo Po, Empress Of, Drive Like Jehu were all really really good too. Didn't see much I didn't really rate - Tame Impala and US Girls probably the biggest offenders

Ugh, I saw them in the NME at Leeds the other year and thought they were dull, and was hoping based on recent live reviews that they'd be better now.

I'd rather see CHVRCHES but all my mates will be at this. Reckon I'll watch the start and hope they're better, then leave for CHVRCHES if I'm bored.

This better not be an issue at Glastonbury.

Was Floating Points on at night? Wondering if the music will suit being on in the light?

I think it was quite dark - I mean, I remember the lights so well, so it must have been. But you know how memories are at festivals. The time of day is probably one of the first things to go!

I went to Primavera in Porto for the first time this year - it's a pared down line up but the site is fantastic. It's in a park on the beach that's very hilly so all the stages are like grassy amphitheatres surrounded by trees. Would definitely recommend it if you get the chance, it's different to the Barcelona one in so many ways, but just as good.

I loved Floating Points too and would like to see them again. Pretty much every act I saw at Primavera that is also playing Glastonbury has only made me want to see them again, instead of helping free up my clashfinder!

Thanks for the tip, that sounds way better. I think I struggled with how dense the Barcelona lineup was this year, it was too much. I like that whole go back to your tents, sit on the grass and sink 6 beers in the 2 hour gap you have. Will check it out, thanks! Glad you enjoyed - definitely know what you mean about the clashes.

This is what really annoyed me at Field Day. I was watching Air this woman had a full on conversation to her boyfriend during their set and literally would not stop talking until very near the end.

That's the reason why I'm gonna try and get as close as possible to Floating Points. Less people talking, more people there to enjoy it...

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
    • Easily my favourite set of the day.
