They are one of those bands that it's cool to hate aren't they?  They're fantastic band, written a huge raft of fantastic songs but because girls in the 80s fancied them - ooh no, the cool kids just can't bear to give them the time of day can they?  It's rather pathetic really...

The new album's bloody great too.  Looking forward to seeing them in a few weeks.  Giving them the "legends" slot does them a disservice - they've never been a band to go on the chicken-in-a-basket circuit.

or...you listened to and purchased a lot of music back in the 80's when the girls fancied them and didn't see the point back then, and they haven't grown on you or changed your mind in the decades since.

Or they are mostly just a bit shit, apart from the odd single.

Ah yes.  Because girls only listen to music of people they fancy.  For someone who's always banging on about equality you are one sexist fucktard.

And for the record I do not and never have fancied Simon Le Bon or any member of Duran Duran.

If Glastonbury is a journey across a beach, with the pebbles being bands like The Courteeners, Alt J and The Vaccines,  then Duran Duran are slightly odder,  slightly different coloured rock.

It's unusual enough, and yet maybe slightly familiar, and it might perhaps be worthwhile to pick it up to see what it does.

Before heading to a rumshack and drinking a massive cocktail out of a coconut.

In this metaphor the coconut represents, like, Bowie or AC/DC headlining.

Wow nice over reaction.

Did the winky smiley not give you a clue that it was a light hearted joke?

Calling every man that has a small joke with a woman a sexist pig does absolutely nothing at all for your cause.

I've made a note not to make the mistake of engaging with you again, dont worry.

    • It was awful during Father John Misty and I was close to the front. People just shouting and laughing their f-ing heads off about nothing in particular and being louder than the bloody stage.
    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
