Part of me really wants them to play because i love them, and part of me doesn't because then i'd have to see them and i've kinda gone off Pyramid headliners because of how difficult it is to get close to the stage and how you're always next to a bunch of arseholes talking through the whole performance. Much prefer the atmosphere of the West Holts, Park stage and John Peel headliners. Flying Lotus was one of my favourites for atmosphere in the crowd last year.

So i'm kinda hoping they rock up at a secret set, which is probably more likely.

I've got to be honest it seems a bit familiar. The colours and silhouettes seem to just evoke the old OK Computer artwork. I hope they go in a different direction for the actual album.

now i think about it more it seems like any potential pyramid headline performance could come as, say, their 3rd or 4th gig of the summer on a new album. Just thinking and reading that aloud, it sounds fairly unlikely that if they were to play that it would be part of their plan for a new album year.

I know many have said this already but feels like it might be too early in the cycle and that they could arrive in 2017 instead? just that it would be brave and unusual to go for the pyramid with a fair amount of lesser known tunes.

looking at their setlists from the last tour, they were hardly ever casual-crowd friendly anyway, so a couple of new tunes stuck in there isn't gonna make much difference to that (besides, if any fans are gonna listen to a new album to death in the couple of weeks it's released, it's Radiohead fans). also, it's Radiohead. the new album could be released later today for all we know. i'm sure there'll be tons of time for people to get to grips with the new stuff*

Hmm looking back at 1997 they did do a handful of gigs in May in the run up to the proper OK Computer tour, promotional stuff and smaller venues by the looks of it, Portugal, Spain and the US. Glasto was then about the 4th gig of the tour proper.

All fair points, but just playing devil's advocate here.... I'm not so sure they are going to be touring this new album for over a year. They have never been known to love touring, they all have all kinds of other projects going on, and they can really just do whatever they please at this point in their careers. Which leads me to your second point on taking their lesser known new songs to the Pyramid. I think at this point they can play whatever they want and people will eat it up.

Apparently Jan Smeets, head honcho of Pinkpop, responded to a question about Radiohead in a radio interview with "that's for 2017" which doesn't sound definitive and I'm pretty sure he's said stuff like that about Foos and Pearl Jam in recent years, but might be true. If it is then I suppose we'll be doing all this again next year - we will even if they're not tbf.

Also I absolutely don't think they could go on the Pyramid without a watered down set and expect it to go down well with the massive Glastonbury and TV crowds, which is one of the many reasons I don't think they'd do it again.

Don't they tend to do a 2 year touring cycle? Can imagine them being active at some festivals this summer, US tour, autumn European tour and then mop up a few more festivals next year with some South American dates in the winter/spring time.

Fair enough. Maybe they get a different crowd reception here in the US because I really can't see a set of theirs at say Bonnaroo not going over well.

The second weekend of Coachella 2012 seemed to not go down amazingly really I didn't think. The next day at our RV park not many were people impressed by them.

Did they water down the set in 2003? Nope not in the slightest, and it went down a storm.

guess it depends what direction they've gone in with the new album. if it's anything like TKOL, then yeah, that would be a hard sell to a Glastonbury crowd. but anything like In Rainbows or something a bit more hook-layden/guitary? i don't think they'd have a problem at all. although baring in mind, the last time they played Glastonbury they were touring what was supposed to be their 'return to rock' record, and still played a lot from OK Computer and The  Bends, which they probably wouldn't be doing this time round

unfortunately never saw any of it myself, but it's hardly Fake Plastic Trees, Just etc is it? probably fantastic live, but i can imagine (much like at Leeds festival 2009) that people would get frustrated when we're a third of the way through the set and there's yet to be a recognisable chorus. shouldn't matter, but it does
