It's the first festival I have been to where I won;t go to see one of the "headliners" and I am really not fussed about it -

Had it been my first Glastonbury I could understand frustration but having been before, there are a million and one other things to do. Even with frustration though folk shouldn't be getting abusive, don't really want that attitude at the festival anyways. I stopped going to T as the atmosphere got progressively angrier, don't let Glastonbury go the same way.

The festival is a long way from that, despite the number of people on social media while they are there.

Russy will be dead upset as Grohl continues to pretend to be the nicest man in rock music.

Yep.

Don't be surprised if the gurning ape isn't spotted stage-side to show "moral support" for her headline gig..............after putting all their guitars out of tune first of course.

Her actual music aside, it is genuinely good to get another female headliner.

Guardian article tomorrow from Valenti saying it doesn't count as she's a replacement for several white men.

Guitars? I thought Florence only used wind chimes and the dying breath of geese?

I have stopped looking at Facebook etc as the statements on there about how Flo is a disgrace and the festival will be shit as a result were beginning to seriously grate :(

I wish people would realise that there are any number of people who would love to have their ticket - regardless of Florence and her Machine!

I am a massive Foos fan and of course I'm gutted they are not going to be able to play, but I still count my lucky stars that we got tickets and are now in a position to choose from heaps of other great bands on the Friday.

It's a privilege to be able to go to something as special as Glastonbury.

Hear hear....well said!!

It's not just twitter. In the last 24 hours a small-brain that's been posting here (now banned) has made posts that have 'suggested' he'll turn up at the meet with less than friendly intensions.

I'll be cancelling it immediately of course.

Glad you banned him Neil, he was a tool.

Nice one.

Wow now sleaford mods are joning in?

https://twitter.com/sleafordmods/with_replies

cancel their slot, they can barely talk when their music is absolutely unlistenable!

Every single time I've come across this band it's left me with an even stronger opinion that they're all a bunch of mouth breathers, this has been no different

they really do give an appropriate representation of Sleaford

Meh... I don't take it too seriously these days.

It happens to everyone  - just look at the completely over the top "Top Gear" drama - some humans love to moan, bitch, troll and get their knickers in a twist over really unimportant things. I just ignore them.. simple and effective.

Twitter and Facebook are most peoples only way to get their point across, and as the Festival have embraced both then they have to accept the consequences of such.

As a general point, these are easily the worst 3 headliners on the same year since I have been going, and frankly I am very disappointed.

People have paid good money to go to the festival and are entitled to their opinions, we have been let down this year, and there is no recourse. People cannot cancel their tickets if they wanted to, and cannot sell them on. We deserve better.

I must admit it does suck.

I've been trying to cancel my tickets due to an operation I had last week. Having an open wound at Glasto seems a bad idea considering the levels of hygiene, and then there's the fact I don't have full use of my arm.

Despite having doctor's note and all other relevant info', Ticketplan do not seem to want to refund my tickets.

I was happy when I found out I might have a reason not to go, as think the line-up this year is awful in comparison to what I've seen last 4 times I've been.

And now there's Florence headlining.

Could it get any worse?

In your opinion.

(I could tag almost all your posts with this)

Hardly a dig tbf.

Yeah I wouldn't imagine saying the cover of You've Got the Love (or You've Got the Dirtee Love) was bad would even be that unpopular an opinion with Flo's fans. And all he's said is that he doesn't know their stuff other than that; many people pan Sleaford Mods because they dared insult Kasabian whilst never giving their music a proper go so just as bad I suppose.

Looking forward to seeing both.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
