Agree completely with will about the overall play from giroud. He fits their system near perfectly atm. That said, benzema had similar qualities so would still be an improvement in my mind

Edit: oh, and taking goals from ozil means jack shit as he barely scores anyway

I don't see why against lesser opponents Arsenal cant play 2 up top.

Midfield of

Ox- Santi -Coquelin - Sanchez (can rotate Ozil, Ramsey, Wilshere into this)

With Giroud - Walcott up top together,

Giroud is one of the best in the league at linking play, and Walcott could play on the last man..

Wouldn't work against the top teams but for bottom half teams should be fine.

Gonna wait until the end of the window to make a full prediction, but I'd group everyone into these sections at the moment, in any order. Obviously any future signings will affect this so I'll do a proper one when the window closes.

1: Chelsea

2-4: Arsenal, City, United

5: Liverpool

6: Spurs

7-12: Southampton, Stoke, Swansea, Palace, Everton, West Ham

13: Newcastle

14-20: West Brom, Leicester, Sunderland, Villa, Bournemouth, Norwich, Watford

If it did happen it'd probably be:

Sanchez - Ramsey - Coquelin - Özil

Or a different formation featuring two strikers. But yeah, it'd work against worse opponents. Wenger needs to start resting players more (as shown by the burnout at the end of last season where he was playing the same team every week), so changes in formation would probably help with that.

Yeah that's true, especially with Thomson inevitably spending half the season out injured. The attack of Loy, Hemmings and Stewart is very exciting though. If Hartley gets them into Europe then I'd imagine this will be his last full season at Dundee, if he even stays for all of it.

Good to hear, I was worried that we weren't going to get to see a realistic league prediction from you.

Just been sat opposite Ilkay Gundogan in Munich airport. Wanted to speak to him but he'd just watched me take a photo of him so thought I'd avoid any further contact.

You could of asked him anything, instead you take pics of his crotch..

Will oh will.

That Dundee derby btw. Amazing. Fuck the super cup.

Yeah it was fantastic. The added time especially was ridiculous, Dundee having a good chance then Bain making a brilliant save (I liked Hartley shouting "what a fucking save eh" at him at the end ) before launching it forward and McPake scrambling an equaliser. It's a shame most people would have been watching the super cup as it was a great advert for Scottish football.

    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
    • Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.
    • I think it will very much vary on who there is to book who they know will sell out a day.    They’ve co-headline and full headline stuff in future, there no reason at all they won’t do it again, even if it means cutting someone’s set by 15 mins or having a band less in a big bands day…   They’re not going to not book Foo fighters and instead get the equivalent of Florence and C&S just to not have a band do a big set…   …unless of course they think it will make them more money…
    • Maybe some right wing leaders like Meloni are just playing to their base, like Reform have been here talking about them ending up at Calais.
    • Citizenship via investment programs basically work by saying if you invest this much in our economy (say buy a property worth x) then we will either grant you citizenship or residency with a route to it. The EU has rules on how low countries can set the bar. Montenegro was one of the easier ones to get and they've had to tighten it up.
