Think frank would be third or could see him headlining the nme tent.

Definitely. She's got to be guaranteed headline over the next couple of years

Yeah to be fair Ben Howard sold out 3 nights at ally pally and no one talks of him headlining

He also only covered the smaller Birmingham Arena and Liverpool Echo which isn't much bigger that Nottingham FM. It's the Genting, the MEN and the o2 to look out for. There is no o2 on the Flo tour, but that said, those dates are equivalent to two nights at the o2 meaning it's an extra 10k ticket shifter for her.

Gazza pm'd me that he thought Ben Howard could headline Glastonbury.

I'd like to see proof of that?, if I did, I'm sure it was based on something where I had the opinion that someone couldn't and that if they did, Howard could. But as I nailed his Glastonbury spot from word go as Other Stage headliner. There is two people, maybe 3. In fact, look at any prediction I pretty much did on here, you'll not find me agreeing except for one occasion maybe that it COULD happen but was never convinced.

He's going to come in saying he didn't and when you present proof he'll say someone else sent it from his account.

Don't get angry because I've disagree with some of your opinions on bands.

I've always reckoned that Ben Howard would sub,

Point proven, not that it needed doing. Fairly silly thing to post really unless Will was being his silly usual self ;P

Not really, it's part of my continued attempt to teach you not to boast about your prediction skills.

Sorry Gaz, I was being sarcastic about Ben Howards headlining, because you kept saying he won't play higher than Other sub.

Haha no worries man, one of my comments did say unless Will is just being Will ;P. Right though weren't I? ;), or shouldn't I say that as it's too much boasting or I'll apparently get caught out LOL?!!! LOL.....I thought it deserved another one myself

It's fine to boast about that as you were (sort of) correct, well done you.

Seriously people have mentioned ed sheeran and Ben Howard in this thread, come on this is reading festival not a teen pop festival. Plus people comparing 1975's to the strokes and artic monkeys who have both had amazing debut albums the 1975 debut was very ordinarily.

It sold well and a lot of people liked it

Seems like we'll be getting something soon if they've got a video done, although given the album's out this Autumn I suppose that's not too much of a surprise. Sounds like it'll be one of the heavier tracks that Q were raving about in the latest issue.

    • 13th Primavera (Thursday was definitely making me feel like this was the cursed year).  Blood Orange was such a party by the end of their set but we all knew that rain storm was approaching.  So gutted Massive Attack didn't play after the false hope of a new rescheduling, especially knowing that Elizabeth Fraser & Horace Andy were backstage with them!  Managed a bit of Melt Banana but was just so over the weather by that point.   Friday was awesome, Rilo Kiley were so much fun.  Never been the biggest Cure fan but made the effort for them after Thursday & Robert Smith sounds like he did back in the 80s.  PinkPantheress & Viagra Boys were also great.   The highlight for me was Sudan Archives on the Saturday, she was stunning & with the Olivia Rodrigo surprise set too it made up for the Thursday sh*t show.  Dijon & Knocked Loose also superb.   Shoutout to Cardiacs on the Tuesday too, they were so LOUD, played a storming set.
    • OK, never mind, I'll take normal Nine Inch Nails.
    • Probably my least favourite of the five editions I've been to, but still plenty good enough for me to go again. Weirdly, I was just totally running out of stamina a lot earlier into the night than I remember happening in the past. I feel like I missed a lot of the weirder sets on the smaller stages as I was just totally cooked. Not Primavera's fault, obviously. Maybe I'm just getting old - or maybe I need to pace my drinking better...   Anyway - is David Byrne a realistic get for next year? Certainly hoping so.
    • watching clips of the cure in Barcelona, wow 2 hours 25 minute set. That's gonna be tough on the Sunday but can't bloody wait for it
