This thread makes my heart melt. So so sweet. After finding a girl I'm very very interested in makes this thread somewhat topical to the stage in my life.

I'm know that my affection for her isn't being reciprocated but you never know with love.

I think I may reveal my admiration for her at Glastonbury.

I think it's quite possibly the most beautiful place to propose for a wedding. So wonderful

Personally i would not take a ring to a festival, you'd be devastated if it got lost. To this day, i leave my engagement ring and wedding ring at home. She will understand.

Im guessing you haven't been before, so don't have a favourite spot? If not, i would either go up infront of the Glastonbury sign behind the Park,or if you want something quieter and more intimate, then either the Peace Garden in Kings meadow or the Permaculture garden. Or, you coukd ask at the bandstand in the middle of the marketd if you could pop up on stage for a minute.

Was it run by a Somerset dwelling girl called Ju ? Lovely pretty old caravan and wooden workbenches cut into curvy shapes?

It was a fancy tent/canopy which led into a geet where you soldered the rings together. Can't remember her name.

Thats so cute, I wish I could have been there to see that!! I have never really thought about proposals at glasto, but think its such a good idea, especially if glastonbury is a special place to your girlfriend

It pays to ask on here. I know Keith and organised it a few weeks in advance. So on the day was a doddle.

Its a pleasure! If you head up the hill from West Holts, past the greenpeace field and across the railway line as if you are going up to the stone circle, take the next available right, go right through the healing fields and head slightly back down hill then you'll find Permaculture there just tucked in by the railway track. You can get to it off the railway track too, but i always find it really difficult yo get to.

The Peace Garden is located on the western edge of the Stone circle fields, just above the bridge into Pennards.

Have fun, hope she says yes!

the letters thing is good. we're going with quite a few people so i could quite easily arrange that i think. get some party poppers, confetti cannons etc etc.

starting to feel extremely nervous now that this is becoming a reality.

If you are going down the 'letters' route then it might be an idea to make them large Scrabble letters on poles. Similar to these people at Bestival (see photo below). If you have enough people going then you could get them to bring the letters and poles so that your girlfriend is none the wiser. Then arrange for them all to be somewhere while you go off with your girlfriend somewhere else on site, and then steer her towards where all your mates are waiting with their letters in order.

Hi

Did mention this in another thread but noone seemed to be able to help. I seem to remember a thread a while back where someone asked for advice re proposing to their partner at Glastonbury. I've tried to find the thread but can't and would love to see it if possible.

Anyway, i am going to do this this year. I've already got a vague idea where/when and how but i am keen to hear of any ideas people may have re any really nice places or any previous Glastonbury proposals they have seen that were quite good. just so i can fine tune the ideas i've already got to make it extra good.

Thanks in advance!

someone proposed last year at the other stage after kodalines set, he asked if he could go up on stage and do it but wasn't allowed, shame but he had a decent crowd gathered round him none the less, I'd say pick a band that she's excited to see and do it during her favourite song of there's, get the people around you on board so they can open up a hole in the crowd so it's just you and her! ✌

Wasn't there a proposal at the Park a few years ago. During Laura Marling's set perhaps? She got people to turn around and will you marry me had been spelled out by the Glastonbury sign. Pretty sure I'm not making this up!

Also, there was a flashmob proposal, organised in part through this site. If you like crowd participation.....

I'd say don't take the real ring, maybe get a token one whilst you are there?

You could also wait until you are there and both in the moment enjoying something

There are loads of great places you could pop the question.

I'm actually very excited for you!!

Wait until Sunday to do it. If you do it earlier and she says no it will ruin your weekend.

Worrying about how it will go all weekend would be just as bad! Unless you have a specific situation and time in mind I'd get it done earlier and then celebrate (hygienically!) the whole weekend as a newly engaged couple

I think this one was organised on here too.

Mind you, I suspect if the OP's girlfriend knew he called himself Kanye's Cock on the internet, she'd swiftly decline.

Unless she's called Madge's Butt, maybe he could take her name?
