I don't think BMTH are going to sub Coldplay, but I don't think it would have been any stranger than Nick Cave subbing Mumfords.

True, but there wasn't really any act in 2013 that Nick Cave wouldn't have looked weird under, I guess he might have been a bit more fitting under Arctic Monkeys but that's debatable. However, if BMTH were booked as a sub this year, then (presuming they are a headliner), they'd surely fit a lot better under Muse than Coldplay.

The fact that even people who like her can name only two songs which will work on the Pyramid shows what a crazy booking it is.

There's no doubting her profile or talent however just because someone of that level is available and keen to do it doesn't mean it'll work - as Dr Ian Malcolm once said - they were too preoccupied with whether or not they could they didn't stop to think if they should.

Chasing Pavements, Hometown Glory, Make You Feel My Love, Rolling in the Deep, Someone Like You, Rumour Has It, Set Fire to the Rain, Hello - all huge songs that, despite not being your usual Glasonbury headliner fodder, will have the crowd belting the words out. If she doesn't let her nerves get the best of her she will definitely go down a storm for those interested

Can't see her getting a big crowd... surely they've booked her for the TV audience.

I'll be opting for avoiding the people jams and get over to Shangri-la early for a change....

Unless it's Radiohead on the Sat... Then I'll well and truly enjoy the jams ;)

Can't see her getting a big crowd? Are you joking? It'll be huge - at the start, at least. If the crowd remains will depend on how the performance goes I guess

You know what I mean... it won't be as huge as Lionel or Dolly. There'll be far more other bits and pieces going on at that time.. Are New Order doing the other stage? that'll reduce her crowd substantially for starters.

Think you're vastly overestimating the appeal of New Order in 2016. They'll do alright, but they ain't dragging people away from Adele. Her crowd will be massive

good time to use the bogs then ;) ... Sorry, you've misunderstood me. Of course, her crowd will be massive... but it won't be anything on Lionel or Dolly.

The last two legend slot crowds + the Stones crowd, all massive. It won't be that big, because despite what is said about the Glastonbury crowd these days I think she'll be a bit divisive. Some will want a party on a Saturday night, that ain't Adele. With the competition on other stages I can see it being a big headliner crowd, but not packed field.

EDIT: Honestly think if its Adele Saturday followed by Coldplay on Sunday, the latter will get a bigger crowd.

Perhaps not, but only because Lionel and Dolly were in the middle of the day with not much in the way of competition on at the same time. Adele will have one of the biggest headliner crowds of recent times imo. Much like the Stones, for a lot of people she will be a 'tick it off' kind of act. When else are people gonna get to see her without paying insane prices for tickets? She's the biggest possible act they could book at this time

Quoting Jurassic Park, in context too, is an automatic up vote for me.

    • Annie Lennox could be the one to unite the whole forum, nobody has a bad word to say about her, even noted curmudgeon Skip 😄 I'd probably even amble along for a bit meself, and i'm also a miserable sod
    • If the below link works - thats interesting.   While I don't particularly put much stock in that account as a source (never seen it before though, tbf), and I can pick a hole or two (see below) in what he says - the timing of it is a week before I had the Fontaines '27 stadium info (same stadium he says on there, Tottenham). The info, or part of it, matches up.   Holes I'd pick: I'd have to watch again but I THINK he says 'end of year' for Tottenham - not possible, for a number of reasons, though he's probably just got his words mixed up there. It's Summer '27, or that's what I've been told. He also says Glastonbury is/would be based on how the album does. That doesn't stack up to me, unless it was a 2028 thing. I suppose that could stack up, but still seems a bit of an odd approach. I would personally still expect it to be 2027 alongside the stadium gigs, IF they are gonna do it, though I've still not got a Scooby when the album is gonna drop, only that the tour is due for Spring (or early) next year.   Interesting, nonetheless.   https://www.instagram.com/reel/DaOB3Q9qkwW/
    • I was hoping that they would just do a tour like they were set to in 2020, rather than having Download as their UK appearance. If they are at DL, I would be surprised to see them headline. I think they sub under Deftones or SOAD
    • well, we might know by the end of next month if they drop the lineup early again
