Kenny Rodgers is probably the least significant incumbent - but, I mean, it's still not half a bad booking.

The effect of Emily's latest words on the various things we've heard. I think it's likely that the act she mentions who agreed to do it at this year's festival was Adele.

We were already hovering around the rumour/strong rumour border with Adele, and that nugget nudged it over the edge in an accumulative effect way.

I don't have any single bit of info that I'd get close to hanging my hat on, but we have had a number of bits and pieces from the merely suggestive but impeccably sourced to the should be right but from a friend of a friend of friend, types of thing.

He's played the Pyramid a couple of times, IIRC.

He 'officially' did the Legends Slot in 2009, but you could probably argue that his appearance back in 1992 was also a 'Legends' appearance.

that'll be the one I'm on about. The whole idea of an oldies slot (within the punters, anyway) grew out of Tom's appearance that year.

Neil's right, it was probably James Taylor.  Van Morrison was playing practically every year at the time, I don't think he would have been on at 'teatime'.

I was there, and there was one act that truly defined the legend slot. Cheesy as hell, but drew a massive crowd for a big sing-along in the early afternoon. You won't like it, but...

Paedophilia aside, surely a children's presenter + artist doesn't define the legend slot?  Yes, Rolf was fun, but not exactly a legendary musician.

I don't think you're grasping how big a deal it was... To say he was a children's presenter greatly undersells how popular he was. I'm fairly sure it was the biggest crowd of the weekend. This was of course before the legends slot became a 'thing' - we certainly never used that phrase in the 90s, but his impact was the closest to Dolly-sized phenomenon that year.
