ah i wasn't sure if that had been confirmed or not, but yeah i believe it's the guy who's done all their visuals for them in the past. definitely doesn't seem to have affected their live show, anyway!

got so swept up in seeing all those hits that i completely missed that they didn't play Block Rockin' Beats. hope that returns - they've probably played it at every show since it was released but i'd just love to see it live. also disappointed to not see Horsepower (in to Swoon) there but ah well, can't win 'em all)

Yeah you're right on the sound front, I can only assume that the 'helper' (can't remember his name) will have also been getting a crash course in some of the live set up too, would imagine the kit on stage is all on a midi-clock anyway and they just have to trigger the samples on a DAW. I'm sure I read somewhere (link within this thread perhaps) that one of them tended to do more of the real time effects work, so maybe this role has fallen to the new guy.

Ive seen the Chems a fair few times over the years at Glasto, same with Orbital.. And while their shows are always superb, they're a "bit seen one, seen them all". I'm looking forward a lot more to Deadmau5 (but pissed that it clashes with George Clinton) than the Chems this year, as it will be something new on the "Big Electronica" headliner act for the other stage.

Ah yes, that Sound on Sound article is the one I was referring to, I guess a lot of the visuals would have been preprogrammed anyway wouldn't they? So if he sets up the cues etc then someone doing the additional work on the night probably wouldn't be too big a stretch? Unsure how labour intensive the visuals would be - although I don't think their sets change much throughout the touring cycle so would assume it's pretty much all sorted prior to the show.

Deadmau5 has never really clicked with me, but i haven't listened to him in years. any reccomendations for what he's like recently?

ah it looks to have been updated massively since i posted that! good news - plenty more fantastic songs in there! Escape Velocity, Don't Think, Block Rockin' Beats and Music: Response are songs i'm VERY glad to see. guessing they played for around an hour and a half at this festival so if we get this setlist then happy happy days!

edit: actually they must've played for much longer as that's a hell of a lot of songs, so we'll unfortunately probably get far less... still a cracker though

They tend to fit a lot of stuff into a relatively short period of time so I think that setlist is entirely feasible for the Other Stage headline slot - about the same number of tracks as they performed last time they played.

Just had a look at the setlist from 2011 and they actually played more tracks than are showing for yesterdays set so I reckon we could all be in for a cracking evenings entertainment.
