Secret resales 2015

So, SeeTickets have just called me as they are confirming all their coach travel right now and I needed to pay for an extra seat on the coach, from what I can gather they are way behind with processing all this stuff which might explain why the secret resale is so late.  I asked about the tickets that had been returned this year and he acknowledged secret resales in previous years, but didn't know whether there were enough returns to warrant it this time around, he said that its Glastonburys decision how they process the extras that come in from cancellations and he hadn't heard anything about it.

This is what I was expecting to hear, Neil said similar yesterday. I think a resale might not happen until THIS Friday. Then we could pretend @Shiftyp9's mate meant this one instead, and everyone would be happy.

This is quite promising! At least an acknowledgement!

Hello all, I'm a long time lurker. I've gone through every minute of the last 2 weeks with you (just very quietly!). If we do all get tickets and there is a secret resale meet-up that was discussed many pages back, I'll have to replicate my actions and just stand creepingly at the edge of the bar watching you all mingle.

This response from Glasto fills me with hope again. It certainly doesn't rule out a resale.

"Nothing planned" - they don't know when it will happen

"official competitions are your best chance" - you still have some chance of getting one in a resale

Good luck everyone, I really hope we all succeed. Keep the faith, we can still do this!!

For those contacting See with the same question. From my limited understanding talking to people in the business (no links to G before you ask /suggest) the chances are that See are completely in the dark on any excess tickets. The allocations now sit with GF and they will let See know how many tickets they can sell, if there are any left at all, See will then more than likely put them up same day.

We all need to calm down and realise there are people doing their jobs across both organisations and if there are excess they will put them on sale once all other requirements are met and signed off.

If it happens it happens. We might get lucky, we might not. There is no point badgering them any more as you are not going to get a different response from either organisation.

To me it sounds like they will chuck some more back in the pot but it could be alot later than any of us expected. I'm away for the afternoon now but will be on high mobile alert still. Good luck to everyone if it does happen this afternoon, otherwise see you all later.

I also got a text this morning saying that. When I questioned further they explained they 'had a hunch'. <_<

    • Any festival is going to face most of the same limitations just by the nature of the event. It's not realistic to accommodate custom staging that extends out deep into the field. Trying to do so and trying to rebuild those kind of structures at the front of the field every day would severely impact on other performers, potentially even including other headliners. It'd also drive everyone involved insane. The most you can get away with is a basic extension that doesn't hide anything fancy. Remember that a lot of the time on these big choreographed shows, the stage extension itself will contain all manner of things to help the show beyond just being a simple platform. Also remember that these structures are designed to be assembled and operate on perfectly flat stadium or arena floors.   In terms of the stage itself - yes, the Pyramid is undersized (I believe 16 metres wide at rigging level). The de facto industry standard has become 20 metres and so it likely does need increasing and apparently there are plans to do so. But that only helps with artists that can largely confine themselves to the stage.   The Other Stage is already 20 metres - to be exact the Other Stage structure is the same model that Serious Stages provide to Reading, Leeds, Download etc for use as their Main Stage and there's nothing larger (at least off the shelf) in their catalogue. So no reason to change that.
    • Can someone remind me, on Harry Styles specifically - have we had any concrete info on him?   I don't personally remember saying much/anything on him, though I have just been away for a month, so could be forgetting something.
