Dora
I thought just about the same thing. I thought the same thing, but in a bad way
CaledonianGonzo
Sheryl Crow never seemed to consider the advent of grunge as some sort of Year Zero, though.
DGrant261
Pyramid and Williams Green would be my guess. The bridge from Elevator Operator into Pedestrian at Best is one of the best bits of music I've heard this year
Tuna
For me, it's the guitar play in Depreston. Gets right down me spine every time.
pentura
For me, it's the guitar play in Depreston. Gets right down me spine every time. So simple yet very effective! I like 'Nobody Really Cares...' wouldn't sound out of place on a Blur record
Tuna
Yeah would fit in on 13, wouldn't it?
pentura
Has that balls-y guitar that Coxon gets! Maybe Courtney could pull it off with another guitarist live but last year it went a bit flat when she was trying to play rhythm and then lead etc. Good set though! CHRLY
Listened again this morning and Small Poppies is still my stand out, think it'll be mega on the Pyramid.

She is playing live with another lead guitarist, Courtney does Rhythm whilst the other guy takes lead.
A Guy Called Matt
I have no idea which track is my fave - all I know is the album is just brilliant
ghandi
She is playing live with another lead guitarist, Courtney does Rhythm whilst the other guy takes lead. Also there is a big difference in sound between A sea of Split Peas and the new record because of it
sinhala
Looks like she wasn't over-impressed with Nemone trying to muscle in the act this morning ....

Doesn't seem to be the case all of the time sadly - was just the three of them last week. It would definitely bulk up the sound a bit. Tuna
Yep their UK tour is as a 3 but I think I read somewhere they also play as a 4.

I think there's a clear Coxon influence there but I don't think she's capable of matching that I'm criticising too much, I really do love her! CHRLY
I was thinking 'Nobody Really Cares if You Don't go to The Party' would be a fantastic set opener.
dentalplan
Does anyone reckon the rambles are quite a bit more forced on this album than the double EP? Depreston was so inane I was punching myself in the face.
stuartbert two hats
With you on this, kalifire. She'd be good on Park or JP, no? I think she seems to be pencilled for Pyramid, though I note that she's (changed to..?) unknown stage on the rumours page. I'm hoping for William's Green on Thursday as an extra set. Now that would be a festival highlight... Ben JP isn't really a small stage, it's a pretty big tent. IMHO West Holts feels closer to the artist, despite the field holding more. She played Both JP and The Park last year, I saw her at The Park and have no regrets. She looked comparatively lost on JP on the TV coverage. Ben Oh I've no problem with that or I wouldn't be listening! I really enjoyed A Sea of Split Peas though and I just felt the album - while being alright - kind of lacked the substance and wit. Like before it was fun but now it's just for the sake of it or something. Though the reviews massively disagree with me so I dunno.

She looked comparatively lost on JP on the TV coverage. Didn't see her on JP but at the Park it was sunny and everybody was sitting down listening to her. Very chill gig and couldn't think of a more chilled out artist but she seemed lost up there too. Maybe it was jus me tho! Maybe a later slot at a smaller tent would be more suited for her, Acoustic maybe? Edited April 10, 2015 by pentura

I hear the album as a natural progression from ASOSP. Or maybe I'm just smitten by the superb orange vinyl pressing!
